First word on money: Whitehead raises more than $250,000
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
While the Legislature’s been spinning its wheels, state Sen. Jim Whitehead (R-Evans) has been on the phone.
Word is that Whitehead, a candidate for the 10th District congressional race, will report raising $264,521.87 from 491 individual donors. He’s also taken out a $100,000 line of personal credit.
It’ll be a few days before we can compare those numbers with other candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in the formally non-partisan race.

Paul Broun has $65K plus cash on hand after having already spent nearly $80K in the race so far.

Another cheap shot from the “Buzz Boyz”. Senator Whitehead has been involved in every session day that has been available and been effective in submitting legislation as well as voting. He has been fundraising on his off days from the session. Funny how you guys seem not to mention that. Why not try to at least be objective when you report something. It’s sad and pathetic how the AJC will hire anyone who leans to the left to write for them. You guys are hacks at best.

It’s good to know that the best man for the job has the most money going in. While no one could replace the irascible Charlie Norwood, Jim Whitehead will do a fine job representing the people of that district.
If he’s good enough for D.A. King, he’s good enough for me.

Please let Mr. Whitehead know he needs to correct his information on voter fraud and illegal immigrants. On his website he links his rebuttal to Cynthia Tucker citing no examples of terrorists and voter fraud. Actually left leaning groups are not registering terrorists to vote. Mr. Whitehead needs to brush up on facts before making immigration and voter fraud a key part of his campaign. I would hope that someone making this a core issue would spend some time not only reading the articles he cites correctly but go to the source and back up claims with fact. We have enough spinsters in Congress and we don’t need another one so blatant.

Craig: Just in case you don’t know how to do research, perhaps you should re-read Senator Whitehead’s response to the AJC Quoting from that link, Mr Whitehead states: However, at the risk of appearing ungracious, I feel compelled to correct Ms. Tucker’s statement that I didn’t “give any examples because he can’t cite any.” I actually can cite many examples, and a very good place to start would be with the outstanding investigative journalism of the Columbus Dispatch, revealing left-wing political activists intentionally registering illegal aliens to vote, including known Al Qaeda terrorists. Ms. Tucker really should try reading the papers sometimes. Click here to find the Columbus Dispatch article the Senator was referring to. I don’t think anything in his information needs to be corrected. Also, to address the last statement in your post: I would hope that someone making this a core issue would spend some time not only reading the articles he cites correctly but go to the source and back up claims with fact. We have enough spinsters in Congress and we don?t need another one so blatant Senator Whitehead currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security. He is privvy to information involving illegal immigration and voter fraud. He is well versed on the subject.

Kepper,
Again, read my post. Mr. Whitehead refers to an Al Qaeda terrorist being registered by left-wing groups. Please read the article you linked to and tell me where this was mentioned. It wasn’t. So as I called on Mr. Whitehead, you Kepper as well need to re-read Whitehead’s response and make sure that everything mentioned is factual. I am sure that once his claims are checked, he will find out he is in error. If he is well-versed and privy, he needs to take what he is given and spread fact not knee jerk inaccuracies. If this is quality, as you say, the 10th is in serious trouble. I’d hope people would hold him accountable and check him on other claims he makes.
