Hmmm. A giant plasma TV and a liquor cabinet….
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Matt Towery’s subscription web site, InsiderAdvantage, has an editorial this morning lamenting what has become a dysfunctional session of the Legislature.
In machine-gun fashion, the editorial mows down the governor, the Republican leadership of the Legislature, and the press — which he says spends far too much time chasing the personal misdeeds of lawmakers. That doesn’t happen in Florida, the piece said. But then it offers the following:
That said, we are not sure the term-limited legislators give the Florida media that much to chase after. By the time they know enough to be full of themselves or to become dangerous, they are out of office. The thought that some big shot legislator would demand that lobbyists buy a giant plasma television for his “hang out,” keep it stocked with unreported spirits and other goodies, and insist on endless meals at his favorite restaurant, again unreported, would never cross anyone’s mind in Florida. It just doesn’t happen.

Many of Georgia’s legislators are just flat-out criminals. We need term limits in this state. The citizens of this state reelected all the incumbents last election but that was certainly not an endorsement. So, just one of the reasons that we do need term limits is that Georgia’s citizens will NEVER know enough about Georgia’s politics and issues to vote some of these yahoos out of office and replace them with someone competent.
As far as some of the legislators being criminals - take a look at many parts of the “sex offender” legislation passed last year (HB 1059). It is outrageous that a government in the United States would pass a law that uselessly removes a person’s (and his/her family’s) right, for the person’s ENTIRE life, to live or work in many, many arbitrary locations because of a transgression that the person committed years ago and for which the person has already completely repaid their legally prescribed sentence.
These Georgia legislators think it okay for the government to approach a family again, again, and again, as often as they like, and force a family from their home. For completely unsupportable reasons, I will add. I know of someone who was just forced to move for the 7th time in less than 3 years!! That is not good for anyone, any community, or for Georgia. It is a utter lie that the purpose of that is public safety. It’s wrong, immoral, against the ideals of any religious faith, and insanely anti-American. The people perpetrating it are criminals.

Don’t forget the biggest perk of them all from lobbyists….an endless supply of $5 bills and drinks (all unreported of course) at the myriad of topless/bottomless exotic dance joints in Hotlanta! Ol’ Sam knows what “legislators” are doing in Hotlanta and it aint good legislating…it’s more like competition to look and act like street who*. That’s why I’m so surprised that ol’ Speakuh Glenn kept the boys busy til midnight….lord those Hotlanta exotic dancers must have been lonely last night….no wonder good buddy Glenn gave them a week off….two days of “legislating” and another week off the t** of lobbyists…not bad work if you can get…then again Jawja’s “legislators” can’t get regular honest day work….that’s why they all migrate to the Gold Dome….like pigeons…..leaving the same mess as pigeons!!!!!

Y’all are the lamest excuses for “insiders” in the history of journalism. Where is the backroom scoop, the intrigue, the interesting dope on the backstage machinations that should make your column a must-read for political junkies everywhere. This column looks like it was put together by two retired-in-place hacks who are no more “insiders” than Joe Sixpack in Loganville. Y’all stink

Speaking bout apologies fer slavery, Mayor, City Council and Chamber of Commerce needs to apologize fer child sex slavery going on in Atlanter today. Unless it interfers with convention bidness.
