Georgia Senate condemns Iran, Syria: Surrender expected within days

At the instigation of state Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta), the state Senate today unanimously passed a resolution condemning Iran for its nuclear ambitions, as well as Syria for its disreputable acts in the Middle East.

So far as is known, no troops were committed in the process. Before its passage, state Sen. George Hooks (D-Americus) asked the most salient question of Hill: “Do you expect the ayatollah to fly directly to New York and surrender to the United Nations?”

Dang, and to think if RuthE Levy, whom I voted for, would’ve been elected, Iran and Syria wouldn’t be shaking in their boots now.

Why don’t you do something constructive? Is this going to help bail us out of the trouble you people (here meaning Republicans) are getting us into?

LEVY 2008!

RAC, I’m with you. Lord knows Georgia is already a bastion of George Bush boot-licking anyway, it’s not like anyone would expect anything different out of this state’s Legislature.

After all, we’re the home of creation stickers, Harry Potter bans, and more recently people who still believe in the fixed-earth theory. It can’t get much more screwed up.

Confronted by the full might of the Georgia Legislature, I am sure the Iranians will be forced to capitulate. Nothing like a handful of provincial lawmakers to bring despots and tyrrants to their knees.

Why is our legislature wasting time on stuff like this? Why don’t they work on finding out the reasons our school kids have the same level of test scores as that Hogzilla that was recently killed? Sheeeeesh!

Well Mutz I wouldn’t put it exactly that way. After all a bunch of provincial lawmakers in the 1770’s did just that.

*our school kids have the same level of test scores as that Hogzilla that was recently killed? *

Georgia school kids are the ranks from which pinheaded state legislators are drawn. Georgia is reaping what we’ve sown in terms of ignorance, backwardness and poor education.

You wanted it, you voted for it, you got it. Enjoy!

Now, now, let’s not start calling the State Senate Republicans a bunch of provincial red-state morons (as desirable and fun as that might be). Let’s keep in mind this saber rattling resolution was a unanimous (and obviously bi-partisan) effort. Patriots? Hawks? Leaders? Foreign policy experts? Hardly, “putz” would be the best way to describe each of the 56 members of this ship-of-fools.

Now we know why our traffic is so screwed up and why nobody in the Gold Dome wants to put the DOT in their place… because the GOP chickenhawks are too busy getting involved with foreign affairs. It must be nice to get paid to be a bunch of lazy slackers. Pity the rest of us can’t do that! I’m sure we’d all like to tell our bosses that we can’t do our jobs because we’re more concerned about the problems around the world.
