Sadie Fields says Sue Everhart is okay by her
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Perhaps the most important political news on Thursday came from Sadie Fields, leader of the Georgia Christian Alliance.
It was an endorsement of the candidacy of Sue Everhart for the chairmanship of the state Republican party. We told you last week that Gov. Sonny Perdue had given his blessing to Everhart. The only other announced candidate in the race is Anthony-Scott Hobbs, the chairman of the Cobb County GOP
Fields remains the most influential member of the state GOP’s Christian conservative base. Her endorsement is an important imprimatur from the right side of the Republican party.
We’re reluctant to say that it’s a guarantee that the leaders of Georgia’s two major parties will be women, but it comes close. The GOP selection process begins late this month, and ends with a mid-May state convention in Gwinnett County.
Says the release issued by Fields: “Sue is the most qualified candidate in the race for Party Chairman. She is the current First Vice-Chair of the Georgia Republican Party and a long-time Republican Party leader and grassroots activist. “

Based upon the track record being established by the current leadership the new Chair has a quite a task in regaining the losses. It is a slow but steady drip.
Georgia is a working class state and only a few months after an impressive victory are people people begining to see and feel the effects of arrogance and indifference.

Has any one heard any news about State Rep. Mike Jacobs switching parties? Dems in the House are talking, and it’s looking more likely.

Actually, bigger news than Rep. Jacobs switching to the Republican Party is the astonishing news that State Rep. Mark Butler (R-Carrollton)was negotiating with the Democrats (while in Augusta for Cong. Norwood’s funeral) for a senior leadership position within the Democratic Party. Rep. Butler currently is the Appropriations Committee Vice-Chair.

Is it true Sadie Fields was in a heated battle with Eva Braun?
Adolph scorned her though, telling her, he wasn’t interested in anyone over 40, and she was just too conservative for him and quite frankly scared him — a lot.

Jacobs to Republicans & Butler to Democrats —— actually it’s like an off-season baseball player trade —— though I think the Democrats ought to hold-out for more players and draft positions —- Mr. Jacobs is way too valuable to be traded one-for-one.

Sorry, Sam but Rep. Butler was not at Norwood’s funeral…..

GOP Athens - I didn’t say Rep. Butler was at Congressman Norwood’s funeral - I said he was in Augusta - negotiating with Democrats - who knows where? Perhaps the third tee on the Master’s Course.

Is Sadie Fields’ Georgia Christian Alliance a 501 c3 non-profit or is it officially now a wing of the Republican Party? Did MISS Fields make an endorsement for the Democratic Party elections? Party elections seem pretty internal and partisan, and MISS Fields being so intimate in one and AWOL in the other not only further exposes the myth/lie of the Christian Alliance or Christian Coalition or whatever the heck that lunatic is calling HERSELF these days being non-partisan, but also skirts close to violating the rules governing non-profits.
And I love how MISS Fields “endorses” Everhart after it’s obvious she’s going to win. She really knows how to pick ‘em: Grant Brantley, Mike Sheffield, Ralph Reed, J. Michael Wiggins …. MISS Fields is a joke and desparate to do anything she can to regain prestige at the state capitol and trick people into believing that she’s God’s press secretary.

I’m sorry Sam, I meant I didn’t Rep. Butler at the church. Maybe he was on the golf course instead.

You are dead wrong, Sam. Butler was in Atlanta meeting with DHR about budget requests. Your information is incorrect.

Butler wouldn’t switch to the Democrats if given a choice between switching or his own funeral. He helped bury that party 4 years ago.

The position Butler negotiated is Senior Assistant Minority Leader with an upgrade to Majority Whip if and when the Democrats take back the House. The deal was sealed in Augusta yesterday afternoon and is to be announced next Tuesday in Atlanta. Besides Butler has told several colleagues he’s actually feeling neglected and left out of the GOP leadership being one of nine Vice-Chairs on the Appropriations Committee. Jacobs for Butler - that’s the deal.

OK, I can understand that. In the world of politics; being Senior Assistant Minority Leader does more status and clout than just being one of nine Vice-Chairs on the Appropriations Committee.

Does this mean that Mike Jacobs will now be one of the nine Vice-Chairs on the Appropriations Commitee?

I have found all of the comments related to Rep. Butler rather amusing. Sam I think you must have gotten into some wacky weed or something like that. You are so ill informed that we are enjoying a good belly laugh. You really might want to make sure, the next time, you at least have a sliver of truth in your comments. I will state clearly - He is not changing parties, he has not been in negotiations, period!!!!

GOP Athens - I beg your pardon!!!! My sources are unimpeachable!!! My second cousins’ girlfriend’s ex-husband’s sister who is dating an intern in the Speaker’s Office says that Speaker Richardson and Minority Leader Porter Dubose will hold a joint press conference next Tuesday morning at 10:00AM to announce the GOP is trading Rep. Butler to the Democrats in exchange for Rep. Mike Jacobs. Check your sources - the deal is done!

OK…proof that Sam is full of shizzle: I’m the real Rustlynn and bozo Sam just hijacked my nickname at the 4:34 post just to perpetuate his crazy agenda whatever it may be. Fact: assistant-vice-chair of the floor sweeping committee of the majority party is a better position than supreme ruler of a party that will never again see the light of day in Georga again. Hedonism, infanticide, and codling with Islamic terrorists doesn’t sell well in Georgia. Butler hails from a district that spawned Bob Barr and Newt Gingrich. Changing parties would be career suicide.

Sonny will have a problem now that the FBI is going to look into the O’Neal Accusations. Maybe the FBI will expose the fraudulent Legislative Ethics Committee and prove that Sonny broke the Financial Disclosure Law when he failed to report his 100 acre purchase of Oaky Woods Land.
And these Republicans use to whine about Murphy’s Ethics. What a mess.

My dear RustLynn - I’m shocked and appalled and grievously hurt at your scurrilous accusation that I am now a hijacker and full of “shizzle” (whatever that is). I am neither a purveyor or consumer of “shizzle”. I have taken the pledge. I’m also shocked at your revelation that the GOP is now offering Mr. Butler a promotion to “Assistant Vice-Chair of of the Majority Floor Sweeping Committee”. In this newly appointed position of leadership, I am sure Mr. Butler will now run faster and jump higher in his ceaseless efforts to to make Georgia safer from heodonism, infaticide and codling of Islamic terrorists. PS. I’m also sure the mothers of Robert Barr & Newt Gingrich are equally as appalled to learn their dear sons were “spawned” in Butler’s District. Be careful of these charges sir, as “spawning” is illegal in at least 39 states that I know of, though Alabama allows it on weekends. Mr. Butler would serve Georgia well if he used his new “majority floor sweeping” authorities and took to the streets and made Georgia safer from “spawning”.

Mr. Samuel, obviously you do not know the meaning of “spawning” which is to produce offspring in great quantities. We Georgians should be most grateful that Bob Barr and Newt Gringrich were not produced in great quantities. We Democrats are not surprised to learn Speaker Richardson has formed a “Majority floor sweeping committee” since they are responsible for most of the trash under the Gold Dome. I do not personally know Rep. Butler but others tell me he, like many other GOP representatives, would be an excellent choice as Vice-Chair of this new “Majority Floor Sweeping Committee”. Additionally, “shizzle” is a euphemism for “full of shi*”. Without question, the current GOP leadership in Georgia has the exclusive for being “full of shizzle”.

Rustylynn - have you given up? Don’t want to play anymore? Tell me you’ve been humbled by the Great Slammin’ Sammy Sludge as I vacation in the FLorida Keys! Your hysterics have me rolling with laughter as I drink under the coconut trees. Next month I will travel to Carrollton and share these exchanges with my good friend Bill C. I can’t wait to share with Bill’s readers how you have promoted Binky within the GOP ranks but I am disappointed at your scurrilous defiling of hedonism. What’s wrong with hedonism? I can personally vouch hedonism is doing well in the Caribbean as I bask in the warmth of the tropics. PS. I would have given anything (even come back from Florida early) to see “Speakuh” Glenn and Porter Dubose hold a joint press conference announcing Binky’s trade to the Dems. Priceless - simply priceless!!!!!!!

So, I been locking horns with the infamous Sludge (a colleague in the loosest sense). Humbled? Maybe… I now feel the need to elaborate…I am aware that the GA Dems aren’t as eager to imitate their older cousins in D.C. by pushing the aforementioned agenda, but the big boys have made “Democrat” a dirty word on South Park and Bankhead.
Tell Bill I look forward to resuming my column soon.

Mr. Rustylynn - if you see our mutual good friend before me, please say hello. I wish I could buy you a drink but in order to best help the innocent, the unprotected and the deserving and to better expose hypocrites, liars and thieves; I regret I can not reveal my identity - not even the prettiest of women are allowed to peek under my mask or my cape. Such is the lonely part of my work. But I am working on my tan in the Keys @ MM 134. PS. Say hello to Binky!
