What a thrill to make national headlines
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here’s the headline on the AP report the Drudge Report highlighted this evening: “White Atlanta suburbs push for secession.”
There’s gotta be a Chamber of Commerce brochure in that.

Comingle this kind of unwanted coverage with poor performing schools, a shaky health care coverage prgram for working class families, the impressive re-election of an ethically challenged Governor from a party that advocates smaller governement and Georgia becomes the laughing stock of the nation/world. It’s bound to have an adverse affect on Georgia’s ability to attract new businesses and industries. It breaks my heart.

Actually, its the restoration of Milton County, which was absorbed into Fulton County during the Depression to save it from bankruptcy. See the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiltonCounty,Georgia

How about merging county governments, instead? It would be a more dramatic and effective step toward solving our regional (and local) issues.

KA, Whether for “restoration” or any other reason, the move re-create a Milton County is at variance with the Republican Party’s advocacy for “less government.” “We, the people, must stand for something, or, we will fall for anything.”

Milton County first, then cut off East Dublin, home of The RedNeck Games, from Laurens County and form Hazzard County on east side of the river. City boys don’t want us no way.

“…Richardson has referred to his top lieutenant, Rep. Mark Burkhalter, as “the member from Milton County.”
Damn, that’s arrogant. This would not work out well for our red state. I say go for it.

This headline certainly was an eyecatcher. Has anyone noticed that that the author of this article referred to state rep. Jan Jones as “he”? Her photo appears right next to it! Let’s get the facts straight. Opinions and broad statements are misleading. Start looking at the dysfunctional county BOC. How many areas of Fulco. have incorporated in the last year or so, just to have better control of tax spending in order to get services?
