Some unsolicited advice. The candidate with the best plan for expanding and diversifying membership, generating and nurturing passion, candidate recruitment, and fundraising ought to be the favorite. Longevity ought not be a factor. Neither should race or gender.

an unsolicted response

Eisenhower said that before the battle, plans were everything. Once the battle was joined, plans were worthless.

That’s very true of backroom plans made by people who have never fired a shoot, raised a dollar, held an office, …

In other words, people fronted as candidates with no real world experience, proven track records, or the personal credibility to back up whatever comes out of their mouths.

In Texas, … All hat. No cattle.

In Sports, … Arm Chair Quarterbacks.

In Politics, … Dan Quayle.
