He quits the party, perhaps to become one of us

Andre the Blogger, the first independent denizen of the Internet to win a Senate press credential at the state Capitol, announced last night that he’s resigned from the state committee of the Democratic party.

“I’ve had fun, but ladies and gentlemen, I’m done and I have no regrets,” he writes. Andre doesn’t say why, but we assume he’s doing so to enhance his journalistic creds. Read the entire thing here.

Ha! Andre Walker “resigned” because he knows there’s no way he can get re-elected to the State Committee by his county party next month. He has zero friends on his own county party and would be lucky to get a single vote. Good riddance.

Not only is it obvious that the commenters do not understand the situation they do not strive to consider any truth at all. Not such a huge leap (or lack there-of) of faith in the general menagerie that makes up the blog-roll readership today.

Andre is having to make some hard decisions. While dealing with a scandal that could do as much damage to him as to the people caught up in it. Its values vs. Morals and Im for one just glad Its not me making this decision… I’d have already sold the guy involved in the scandal down the river and taken his supporters down with him. Which if Andre listens to my advice will be exactly what he will do himself. Theres just some people that only learn lessons by picking themselves up off the floor. Theres alot of those people attached to this issue.

Just keep digging Bunn. Always the total loser and delusional liar. By the way, what is the “Former Chief Magistrate of Polk County” doing for work these days?

I think Bunn and a couple others know this is all about Berlon and the Political Vine.

Not only has Berlon not held a party meeting since October, not elected new officers in December, but his elected power elite base in the Gwinnett organization is all white.

He’s beat up on Andre as being Deep Throat, I’d bet the house on it.

Andre got tired of it and moved on.

The Gwinnett Party organization is supposed to have ethnic representation similar to the demographics of the county.

I’m not sure of bylaw, charters, and rules. But, Berlon isn’t building a big tent of support in line with Democratic ideals.

And he’s running a witch hunt for Deep Throat, burning a bunch of bridges.

Not only was there a meeting of the Gwinnett Party in Nov., and each month going back, since the Gwinnett Party never meets in Dec. the voting committee voted unanimously at the Nov. meeting to hold off their elections until they had their State Committee elections. The Chair did not vote. Plus I think if you look at the committee in Gwinnett you will see the Chair is building a big tent of support in line with Democratic ideals. As well as all the Chairs before him.

Berlon couldn’t get real people to share an unbrella with him if it was raining.

The rumors keep coming. By Monday, we’ll have a list of election laws that Berlon has broken as a candidate in ‘02 and ‘04.

I’d say “cabal.” You’d say “populist.”

I’m not surprised this is the best a pathetic flunky like you can do. Still, this is pretty insane even for you.

I know Andre and know he is a well-meaning, big-hearted guy who really wants to ba a part of positive change. I understand his frustration with “politics as usual”, although, had he known of party politics twenty years ago, he’d know that we’ve improved a lot (not exactly where we should be, but mostly moving in the right direction).

I hope this setback doen’t dampen his enthusiam and wonderful energy, but rather helps him focus on how he can be most effective. I know of a worhty cause where he would be welcome!
