A vote for a Democrat, is a wasted vote.

At Facebook.com’s “Election Pulse,” the 4th Congressional District presently breaks down this way:
Hank Johnson - 60.82% Catherine Davis - 19.71% Loren Collins - 19.47%
Yep, even as a mere write-in, I’m on the verge of overtaking the Republican. And sure, it’s a grossly unscientific poll, but there aren’t any other Fourth District polls out there that I’ve seen. At least not since primary season.

What I love about the South is how stubborn we are. Folks like Randy still see the Democrats as being anti-military and pro-spending with the Republicans the opposite. Boy has that changed, but don’t let reality get in the way of belief. The last President to balance the budget was a Democrat. The Democrats are now the ones trying to get money for the troops and veterans; the Republicans get money for Halliburton. Check out the editorial in the Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corp Times today - they all call for Rumsfeld to resign. Haven’t noticed a lot of press for that in Atlanta. The military is now saying openly that the war is mismanaged by Rumsfeld. Republican senators state on cable news that it’s the generals’ fault, not Rumsfeld’s. Not a lot of press in Atlanta about a Republican blaming the military for failure in Iraq.

If tomorrow’s results vary significantly from the polls perhaps those who pay for them will begin to rethink their value and those who generate them will revisit their methodology. Most regrettably, those who relied on them will be eating a lot of crow. I won’t get a moment sleep tonight in anticipation of the peoples voice tomorrow evening.

I don’t know about you guys, but the message we could send if we all voted Libertarian this year would be daunting. I can’t vote for either Mark or Sonny, they’re both slimy and corrupt. I like the way Hayes has tried to talk about issues. Would it create a logjam in the state house? I’m not sure, everyone would have to pick a side. We might actually get some non-partisan activity instead of the travesty we have now. I like the education candidate, too.
I realize run-offs will result, but maybe it will be a wakeup call that we want to talk about issues AND ethics during the runoff campaign. But what’s the use, this country is so polarized that I’m not sure that it ever can be repaired.

A vote for any of them is a wasted vote if you ask me. Nothing ever changes, they are all corrupt. I would like to see the current GA Dept of Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond voted out.

Please by all means vote the current Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond OUT. If you’ve ever had to deal with the folks at the Unemployment Office, HE’S THEIR BOSS. Lets try someone new and TOSS HIS AZZ OUT.

Michael Thurmond’s folks make it a rough day down at the unemployment office?
Good.
One excellent reason to vote for him. I like the idea that collecting unemployment is a pain in the “azz”. We have a very low unemployment rate, around 4.4%. Go get a job. And vote for the people who will stay out of our business and keep their hands off of our hard-earned money, like AR says.

Lynn, Democrats want to get along with the terrorists and figure out why they hate us.
John Kerry is a prime example of why voters think that way. Tell me, why on earth do you still allow him to speak in public?
If the market is an indicator of elections results, then the GOP will keep both houses.
I think the GOP will keep the Senate and have a 50-50 shot of keeping the House. I would think the market would have been down had the money guys thought Nancy Pelosi would be the next Speaker of the House and the Bush tax cuts repealed.
I can only hope the GOP keeps both houses but realize that is a long shot. Losing the House would not be total catastrophe. The GOP would still have the Senate and Whitehouse.
I expect the Libertarians to do better this year than they ever have. There are voters upset at Republicans but can not stomach voting Democrat. The “democrat” take over scare does have them second guessing about whether to vote Libertarian.
If the GOP retains both houses, then you conspiracy theory nuts will say that Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and Haliburton deliberately leaked out that the Democrats were going to take over to rev up and awaken their political base and raise money. You will also say the Democrats were unwitting participants by taking the bait and crowing about the take over and what would happen and this awakened the GOP lethargic base.

Debbie, Read “The New Pearl Harbor” and recognize that Bush is the terrorist who committed 9-11…or content yourself with low I.Q. or low Patriotism/High Treason.
Speaking of “low I.Q.,” has it failed to dawn on you that Bush, like his super-fan Ted Haggard, is a practicing homosexual? Why do you “think” homosexual prostitute “Jeff Gannon” overnighted at the White House?
Is ignorance bliss? Or are you aware of the treasonous lies of WMD that have killed almost 3,000 soldiers and Marines in Iraq…and you simply don’t care? What of the Dubai “port deal”? Does the booming heroin trade through Dubai since Bush committed 9-11 and lied us into war bother you not at all?
Is your reality governed by lies? To yourself and to those around you?

There is such a thing as respect, which is what we Republicans have NOT got from those we have supported throughout the years. We need to hold our nose and vote against all incumbents unless we have a really good reason not to. Forget the least of two evils, evil is evil. Teach the RepubliCONS a lesson. If you have been paying attention, the Georgia RepubliCONS have done a lot of damage in the past 4 years. Tort reform is a good example. Phony illegal immigration laws and weak eminent domain laws another. Look those two bills up and read them and weep. Both parties are in bed with the payday and title lenders who prey on desperate Georigans. The world will not come to an end of the Dems are in power for 2 years. All of a sudden, our opinions will COUNT for a change! Don’t reward the Republicons at a state or federal level with your vote tomorrow.

OK Debbie, get this. I have a FUGGING JOB. Don’t let those low unemployement rates fool your dumb a*. There are a lot of people working for wages that they made back in the 80’s because everything is outsourced, offshored to India. etc. Former Senator Charles W. Walker who is in JAIL because of his Georgia Personnel Services company that almost bankrupted Grady hospital bilked a lot of his employees out of their unemployment compensation. And the GA Dept of Labor helped him run that scheme just because of his political ties. SO DEBBIE, SHUT DA PHUCK UP.

DEBBIE, I AM SOOOOO SORRY. My previous comments were meant for Wahhhh Wiggins. And Yes Wahhhh Wiggins, Thurmond’s folks did make it rough. Their little phone abritration hearings in nothing but a joke. They are in bed with Sen Charles W. Walker and some of them need to be in prison with his azz. THANK GOD FOR TV 5 INVESTIGATIVE REPORTERS OR WALKER AND THE GA DEPT OF LABOR WOULD STILL BE BILKING FOLKS OUT OF WHAT IS JUSTLY THEIRS.

If you can’t even reply to the right post on a blog, I have little faith in your evaluation of how any system works. Get confused easily? Hmmmm.
And if you “worked” anywhere around Grady, you might try a real job sometime. Collecting unemployment for the bloated staff non-service they often render is a bad joke.
Walker is in jail. Quit being bitter, and be thankful that you live in a country where you can try to change government policies without shooting at anyone. Stay away from anything related to, or run by politicians and your life will be better. Duh.

Ummm Wahhhh Wiggins, I don’t work around Grady, nor have I worked for Walker and his GA Personnel Services, I just know of the underhanded dealings. And the only thing I’m bitter about is how he (Walker) took the rap alone. There are others at the GA Dept of Labor who should be in prison with him.

Oh, then you’re just angry that you had a tough time collecting unemployment. Then go back and re-read my original post, or make some sense. If you weren’t given to senseless harangues and general whining, you might have a job that wasn’t low paying or subject to outsourcing.
The elections will be tallied by tomorrow, everyone will move on with their lives, and you’ll still be obsessing about Michael Thurmond.
Have you thought of running for office? Not making sense and being nasty seem to be the main prerequisites to a career in politics.
