Zell invades Pennsylvania, hunting for shoe factory

National Review Online has this below about Zell Miller’s foray into the North on behalf of Rick Santorum. Many thanks to newdonkey.com for pointing it out.

Here ‘tis:

Harrisburg - During a radio interview late yesterday in Harrisburg, former Senator Zell Miller (D-GA) formally kicked off Democrats for Santorum, a statewide coalition of Democrats dedicated to Senator Santorum’s reelection effort.

Over 7,000 members strong, Democrats for Santorum is a coalition of Pennsylvanians who share Senator Santorum’s commitment to national security, lower taxes, and less government regulation.

During the radio interview, Senator Miller said, “I am not involved in any other race in the country. I am only doing this for Rick Santorum. I believe in Rick Santorum’s leadership that much.

I believe in his leadership more than anyone else I served with in the US Senate…Rick Santorum was more than just a good friend to me, he was someone I looked up to for guidance.”

Zig Zag Zell flies a lot these days, like down to “The Villages” next to Disney World on the jet with Boss Hawg Perdues developer buddies for a book signing party. Must be why they have him on TV touting that rascal.

It is pathetic and sad to observe 75 year old Zell Miller, who pimped off the Democratic party for 40 plus years, continue to do so on behalf Republicans. Perhaps, indeed let’s hope, that after November 7 an assessment of their losses, associated with his blessings, will once and for all put Zell in obscurity where he belongs.

It’s most unfortunate that at this point in his life Zell has not come to realize that he suffers from delusions of greatness. Thanks to a kind press and an effective spin machine, his tenure as Governor has been marked by undeserved and unearned accomplishments. After all, it is generally well known that HOPE, his signature accomplishment, was hijacked from another legislator. An objective analysis of Zell’s political career will reveal that he has much to be modest about. Such an effort could appropriately be titled… Zell Miller: The Great Pretender.

Great points GLC. I’ve an interesting and revealing story to back you up.

When Zell announced his support for Bush in the Wall Street Journal he hyped how he had voted for every Democrat for President beginning with Adlai Stevenson in 1952. Zell wouldn’t have been old enough to vote in that Presidential election!

When this occurred to me last year I made an attempt to get this information out. The AJC wouldn’t even print a letter to the editor! I made a few other attempts and got nowhere.

DM…If it’s not too much trouble please use this medium to share the points you made. You might be surprised to learn how many people are interested in factual information about this person who has all of the questions and answers.

GLC-Not sure what you mean. I made a few phone calls and sent a couple e-mails to the media about what I had figured out. No one seemed to think this was a story at all! All I could figure out was that he was being protected from anything critical. Did Zell simply forget, committ voter fraud, or what? At a minimum he should at least be accountable.

DM… I just got your point, which was that in the Wall Street Journal article Zell claimed to have voted Democrat all the way back to Adli Stephenson, when in fact he would have been too young to vote in that race… another lie.. justlike he claims no involvement in other races… “I am not involved in any other race in the country. I am only doing this for Rick Santorum. I believe in Rick Santorum’s leadership that much.”

Thanks

Adli Stephenson ran against Ike twice—in 1952 and 1956. Zell would have been 24 in 1956 and definitely old enough to vote.

CAG—The EXACT quote from Zell in the Wall Street Journal was, “And that’s a pretty big mouthful coming from a lifelong Democrat who first voted for Adlai Stevenson in 1952…”

Yes indeed, a big mouthful to be supporting Bush, and as I mentioned before not even possible unless he engaged in voter fraud.

GOP and CAG==The exact quote from Zell in the !!/3/2003 Wall Street Journal was “…I will vote for George W. Bush for President…And that’s a pretty big mouthful coming from a lifelong Democrat who first voted for Adlai Stevenson in 1952…”

A pretty big mouthful indeed. A lapse in momory? Voter fraud? Any other logical way to explain this?

Zig-Zag’s lack of spine and his two faces are due to mountain inbreeding.

He’s hillbilly trash.

Zell Miller was Born February of 1932. (Senate Biography). The Georgia Constitution of 1945 Article II, Section I, Paragraph II allows “Who Shall Be An Elector Entitled to Register and Vote. Every citizen of this State who is a citizen of the United States, eighteen years old or upwards,”

Nov 1952- Feb 1932 = 20 years old.

Maybe that is why he was allowed to vote in that election.
