The Miller-on-Marshall mailer

You’ve read the story about U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall’s use of a two-year-old quote from Zell Miller. Now see the mailer that started it.

Kind of reminds us of those kind words — “but don’t call it an endorsement” — that Newt Gingrich expressed for Ralph Reed this summer.

This mailer will cost Jim Marshall the election because Zell Miller is a kiss of death. Zell Miller reminds voters of the lady who left her husband for another man. Somewhere in the back of the mind of the second husband is the possibility that she might do the same to him. In essence, association with Zell Miller elevates the trust question about Jim Marshall to another level. Its a killer opening for Collins if his strategists are alert enough to exploit it.

Marshal is just another sleazy politician who will do anything to keep his seat in the congress—even mislead about endorsements.
