Perdue drops 6 points on Taylor’s TV ads
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insider Advantage is out with its latest poll, which shows Republican incumbent Sonny Perdue dropping below the 50 percent mark in the race for governor since early October.
The dip coincides with TV attacks by Democratic rival Mark Taylor on the governor’s Florida land deal, and an accompanying $100,000 tax deferral passed by the Legislature.
The poll shows Perdue at 48 percent, down from 54 percent early this month. Taylor’s numbers have dropped, too, to 28 percent. And the ranks of undecided voters have increased.

Maybe the average working folks of Georgia were offended by the way Perdue snickered and smirked in the camera and said, “It’s only worth $2 million, but I’ll sell it to you for $20 million!” while never addressing the special details of the deal, nor his $100 K tax break. That little $100,000 piece of change is more than most of us will ever see at one time, let alone a multi-million $$ piece of property. Maybe that’s why he’s not as appealing this week.

Yeah…Sonny lost me with that commercial, that and the report I saw in the news about how he cut funding for handicapped kids! I honestly did not know much about him, but boy no way would I vote for him now!

Hats off to the producer/writer of that very effective Taylor ad! When Taylor gets elected because of it, there will be a nice, cushy, take-another-meeting kinda postition waiting for his/her at the GA Dept. of Econ. Development. Or at least a really nice fat contract waiting there for his/her production company. Heck, even Karl Rove’s gotta love it! It’s that good.

Perdue came across in the debate as arrogant.
I think the poll numbers show that a lot of voters are changing their minds.
I think that a lot of Perdue’s GOP base are angry at the way Perdue and the Georgia GOP have run a dictorship and are second guessing whether or not Taylor would really be that bad. I am one of them…I may end up voting Libertarian for both Governor and Lt. Governor.

I was disheartened by both candidates letting the debate degenerate into name calling. I’ll be voting for Perdue nonetheless because I think he has been good for GA on the whole.
Furthermore, I think Taylor’s ad only shows that he has no real agenda of his own other than simply to be governor. It’s a moot point anyway because Taylor doesn’t have a snowball’s chance.

I watched the debate online. I would be embarrassed to say I was voting republican or democrat after watching the childish behavior of both Taylor and Perdue. There was only one adult on stage that night, the Libertarian candidate Hayes, and he will get my vote, along with every other Libertarian I can vote for!

Reading from all of the comments above, I realize that I am not only a SMART VOTER, I have a better memory than the others sho have commented…I remember when the Dems ran the government. Republicans do not have everything accomplished just yet…but after 130 years of accumulated dirt collecting in the offices of government, voters should realize it will take a little while longer.
Anyone whose vote is determined by clever TV ads, really deserves the worst outcomes possible…which is the Democrat candidate. I have always enjoyed Taylor’s commercials…but I would NEVER VOTE on that badid!

The republicans waited 135 years to win the governor seat and now they are polling below 50%. maybe it is time for people to start looking at the Libertarians

You really have to be a glass half-empty kind of guy to think this poll upsets Sonny. 20 point lead on the governor lite? Forget a run-off. With the m-o-e, Sonny still clears the field.

Ok, so all you that say you are going to vote for Hayes and the other libertarians- fine, do it. Please. That way, you’ll force a runoff, and then you won’t have libertarians as an alternative when the next vote rolls around. Sonny with all his “pinocchio” talk, psshhh, I say takes a liar to know a liar. Sure, they were both being big babies about everything at the debate, but can things really get much worse in the state of Georgia? Give Taylor a chance - can’t be any worse than what we’ve already got!

But voting Libertarian will make the GOP and Democrats take notice…Remember when “Republican” meant “fiscal conservative, keep the gov’t out of my life”? Now it means “Jesus as a Precinct Captain” lunacy, along with big spending, wiretapping, and using the bill of rights to wipe their, um, y’know.
Why do you vote for someone you don’t want to win? Now that’s a wasted vote. And it’s why both major parties feel free to act like morons…voters won’t hold them accountable.
But go ahead and follow the rest of the sheep off of the cliff if it makes you feel better.

Those damn Republicans are all over my life and every other United States’ citizen too in the Patriot Act—that’s why Young Harris, Georgia wants to hear a fellow Republican attack them next week in Young Harris! Come on up and listen!
