A Ralph Reed sighting: One PhD to another.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Ralph Reed, the former Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, seems to be finding his post-primary legs. The New York Post has his line in today’s editions: “Dr. Henry Kissinger at ‘21’ with Ralph Reed, former head of the Christian Coalition, at a table diagonal to Vernon Jordan’s …”
Friends of Reed say one of his activities is trying to figure out which 2008 presidential candidate he’ll line up behind.

Keep up the sightings on Reed, gentlemen.
The American People can know with certainty that anyone willing to be seen in public with him is a fellow-traveler to be equally despised by any who wish for righteousness in government.
That Rockefeller/Nixon/Bush-lapdog Kissinger was with him makes perfect sense.

Those of you thinking the primary loss was Reed’s demise are fools.
Reed is not going anywhere. He infuriates bleeding heart liberals and I love that.
The question is will Reed supporters vote for Cagle? I would estimate that you will have 30 -40% that will not. They want a message sent about Cagle’s negative campaign tactics. They will either abstain from voting for Lt. Governor or they will vote Libertarian. Whether or not that will make a difference in the election is anyone’s guess. I will vote for Cagle.
I would say that Cagle will probably emerge as victorious and you will have moderates that will point to the primary defeat of Reed and Cagle’s victory and say that the Christian Conservatives no longer have influence in the Georgia GOP and moderates have taken over.
They have falied to realize that at least 70% of Reed supporters I know voted for Handel and Black. The Reed supporters made huge differences in those races.

Here goes Debbie reliving the Primary. Debbie can you not move on without living in the past? Speaking of the Primary and being wrong, where are those steak dinners?
Debbie as for your comment that he infuriates bleeding heart liberals, I’d say he didn’t exactly woo over conservatives and moderates either. Losing in a very conservative GOP primary speaks volumes.

Tony, you have just proven yourself to be none other than Bill Simon of the Political Vine. Debbie made the comment on the steak dinner on Peach Pundit in which she bet a steak dinner that W would campaign for Reed if Reed won the Primary. Of course, you don’t care about facts that don’t suit your way of thinking so you just ignore them.
Don’t bother to deny you are Bill. I don’t see Tony posting on Peach Pundit, but do see Bill Simon whose postings are strangely similar to yours.
Character does matter and Cagle has proven that he will lie in order to win. You are pretty hypocritical in the way you ignore Cagle’s lies and ethical lapses.

I am not reliving the past at all. i said I would vote for Cagle. I will admit it is relunctantly. There is still a lot of anger out there…

Philly,
Pardon me while I deny that Tony is me. He’s not. I don’t blog on the AJC (except to answer idiotic morons like you).

Bill,
No matter how many times you can speak the truth on who you and I are, they will deny it. People who deny reality have a place specifically built for them. They even have their own line of clothing and nice padded cells as well.
Philly,
Obviously you don’t read your buddy Debbie’s comments on here. She made that comment on here as well. Check your facts before making such a spectacle of yourself. You have shown repeatedly that all you can do is make false claims backed with no facts and each one that is disproven makes you claim more false statements. That makes you a liar and a compulsive one at that.

A webperson at AJC could always look at which URL Bill S and Tony are posting from. That could potentially answer the question of if Bill is Tony.

I know Bill Simon, I don;t know Tony. One thing that I can tell you about Bill is that he would NOT post as someone else. Bill likes people to know that it’s him posting.

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie,
It has been too long since I saw you at Peach Pundit, do come back!
However, I still am absolutely thrilled to read your RR sob stories!
Let’s see, I will follow your logic here.
448106 votes in the Dem Lt. Gov Primary, 406758 (227, 968 for CC) in the GOP. Remember those numbers.
You said that approx. a third of all CC votes were cross overs (if I remember correctly). Let us assume that 25% of CC’s voters were crossover (a near impossibility).
Are you implying that there are almost 100 000 more liberals/Dems in GA then conservatives/Repubs?
Moreover, let us then say 1/3 of RR votes do not go to CC (about 60K). Are you also saying that close to 200 000 people in Georgia are already lined up against a GOP candidate?

I have continued posting on Peach Pundit, where have you been?
I would advise you to look at the thread concerning the Libertarian Candidate for Governor and read it carefully. It could have implications for Cagle.
There were a good many conservatives that did not vote. Are you disputing that?
The Dem has 40% of the vote off the bat.

Please God do not drag Ralph Reed into the news again… Anyone seriously considering being President would be smart to stay away from him in my opinion…

You Cagle people keep on bashing Reed. You just can’t give up bashing him every chance you get. It won’t help Cagle get votes of Reed supporters and will end up hurting Cagle.
Bull moose, you a liberal/moderate Republican that has problems with conservatives and you hate Ralph Reed. All anyone has to do is read your hate filled postings about Reed on Peach Pundit.

Yes, we Reed supporters are still here and still waiting. We are waiting for a positive jesture from Cagle and a welcome to his campaign. Unfortunately for Republicans, that has not come as is evidenced by the posters here. They still want to criticize Reed.
I always thought that if you won your race you ought to be a gracious winner and welcome your opponent and his or her supporters into your campaign.
Cagle’s camp is so arogant and full of themselves that they think they don’t need the rest of us. They are already talking of their plans to run for governor in 2010.
Well don’t think for a moment that Reed is finished. He will continute to be a major force in Republican politics and don’t think that many Reed supporters will come over to Cagle without a very different attitude that what that campaign has been putting forward.

Nothing Cagle will do can erase the lies and type of negative campaign that was run. Cagle ran a campaign of lies. He knew Reed did not support forced abortion or child labor in the Mariannas but he ran ads anyway the stated that.
It sickens me for one Republican to accuse another Republican of doing that.
A man that lies to get elected is not fit to hold office. I don’t care if they are Republican or Democrat.
Anyone that votes for Cagle is giving approval for the type of campaign he ran in the primary.
I can not betray my values by doing that. I am sure Cagle thinks that Reed supporters will fall in lock step because they have no where else to go. They are wrong. I am voting Libertarian for Lt. Governor to send a message that I will not allow my vote to be taken for granted and I will not endorse the type of campaign Cagle waged.

FCG, you will have a long wait. Cagle thinks his victory signals the end of Christian Conservative influence in the Georgia GOP. He doesn’t think he needs conservative voters any longer.
He and his people are very egotistical.

Debbie,
If I recall YOU were the first one on this topic to bring up the whole race again. I think deep down inside you Reed follwers just cannot stop obsessing about the man. The males have man crushes and the females want to marry him. I don’t think I’ve seen so much obsession about a candidate since Gore lost in 2000. The guy lost because of his ethics and lack of credibility. Get over it. The GOP voters spoke so move on.
Anyone still obsessing about Reed clearly has some issues Freud would love discussing with you. And with reverse logic those infatuated with Reed condone the campaign he ran and the lies he told during that race. I guess it’s OK for Reed to lie but according to them it’s wrong for Cagle to do anything at all. Great values.

Don’t be an a*. Cagle needs every vote and those of every Reed supporter. Reed lost. There is no need to continue attacking him and p** off his friends and supporters.
This is a time for unity or Republicans will not win in November. I am asking all Cagle supporters to be a little more forgiving and accepting of the Reed supporters. We need them if we are to win this one for Casey.
This is not going to be as easy as some think. This is no time for arrogance or pride. Every Reed voter is important and those who do not understand that will only hurt Cagle.
