This just in: Bush in Atlanta next week
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Before going to Savannah for a Max Burns fund-raiser next Thursday, Sept. 7, President Bush will make a morning stop in Atlanta to address the Georgia Public Policy Foundation. So we’ve just been told.
The White House has confirmed Bush’s appearance at the at Cobb County’s Galleria complex.
The presidential visit will give the policy foundation two coups this fall. U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will speak to the same organization in October.

Please, give us a break. Who really want to hear Bush talk about anything these days, can we believe what he says, or is it just the same old s—t about “Stay the course”. We should have never started the course. The Bush administration have done nothing but lied to the American people, voted down the wage increase for hard “honest” working Americans who have work hard all there lives and have nothing to show for it because they are just making enough to make ends meet. Thanks you Mr. President for the hard times. Keep up the not so good work which the American people expect you to do.

I love President Bush. He is a great man for getting us into Iraq. He did it because he is a Christian like me.

It amazes me how every time some one speaks out against the President, they are immediately labeled a “leftist” or “hater” or “un-patriotic”. Those of you who support the President are entitled to your opinion, and those who don’t are as well. If the president would just stop lying to the American public then maybe he’d be viewed a lot different. I did not vote for that non-speaking clown, but what can you do.

I am sick and tired of you left wingers and Michael Moore clones like Godhates trash calling Bush a liar.
HOW DID HE LIE? LET’S SEE FACTS.
I have disagreements with Bush on some of his policies like immigration, his recent stem cell bill veto, No Child Left Behind, the massive amount of money being sent to New Orleans to clean up from Katrina, but I still think he is a honest person. I do agree with his Iraq policy. I disagree with his policy of trying to restrain Israel. He needs to turn them loose and let them clean house.
I think he is a better President than Al Bore or Scary Kerry would have been.

End of The Affair
It turns out that the person who exposed CIA agent Valerie Plame was not out to punish her husband.
Friday, September 1, 2006; A20
WE’RE RELUCTANT to return to the subject of former CIA employee Valerie Plame because of our oft-stated belief that far too much attention and debate in Washington has been devoted to her story and that of her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, over the past three years. But all those who have opined on this affair ought to take note of the not-so-surprising disclosure that the primary source of the newspaper column in which Ms. Plame’s cover as an agent was purportedly blown in 2003 was former deputy secretary of state Richard L. Armitage.
Mr. Armitage was one of the Bush administration officials who supported the invasion of Iraq only reluctantly. He was a political rival of the White House and Pentagon officials who championed the war and whom Mr. Wilson accused of twisting intelligence about Iraq and then plotting to destroy him. Unaware that Ms. Plame’s identity was classified information, Mr. Armitage reportedly passed it along to columnist Robert D. Novak “in an offhand manner, virtually as gossip,” according to a story this week by the Post’s R. Jeffrey
Smith, who quoted a former colleague of Mr. Armitage.
It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House — that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame’s identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson — is untrue. The partisan clamor that followed the raising of that allegation by Mr. Wilson in the summer of 2003 led to the appointment of a special prosecutor, a costly and prolonged investigation, and the indictment of Vice President Cheney’s chief of staff, I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, on charges of perjury. All of that might have been avoided had Mr. Armitage’s identity been known three years ago.
That’s not to say that Mr. Libby and other White House officials are blameless. As prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald has reported, when Mr. Wilson charged that intelligence about Iraq had been twisted to make a case for war, Mr. Libby and Mr. Cheney reacted by inquiring about Ms. Plame’s role in recommending Mr. Wilson for a CIA-sponsored trip to Niger, where he investigated reports that Iraq had sought to purchase uranium. Mr. Libby then allegedly disclosed Ms. Plame’s identity to journalists and lied to a grand jury when he said he had learned of her identity from one of those reporters. Mr. Libby and his boss, Mr. Cheney, were trying to discredit Mr. Wilson; if Mr. Fitzgerald’s account is correct, they were careless about handling information that was classified.
Nevertheless, it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame’s CIA career is Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming — falsely, as it turned out — that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife. He diverted responsibility from himself and his false charges by claiming that President Bush’s closest aides had engaged in an illegal conspiracy. It’s unfortunate that so many people took him seriously.

Debbie, Bush lied about the reason for the Iraqi invasion. PERIOD.
Rocket tubes. WMDs. Powell’s slide show at the UN. All total lies, and they knew it.
Bush took advantage of a stupified, grieving nation who had to trust him (post 911) to find those responsible.
It will go down as the worst betrayal in the history of mankind, and Bush will be seen from now on as the scoundrel of the ages.
People, in a thousand years from now, will be saying stuff like, “Dont bush me!” or “bush off!” or “stick that in your bush”.
No, he is the devil. Saddam’s political acumen was correct, as we knew it was, and as we supported his efforts to contain the Shia revolution and keep the oil flowing. He was our friend and ally.
Now, bush lies when he says that he can make the centuries-old sunni/shia rift disappear and that he can show them how to shake hands, and let bygones be bygones and join together in a new world of brotherhood, and democracy.
It’s nonsense. We can stay there fifty years, or leave today, it no longer matters. The sunni/shia rift will continue for another 14 centuries and chaos will rule.
Debbie, if you are a true person, then you will visit a shia mosque today in the USA and shake some hands, hug some clerics, and in general bestow kindness upon the assembly. If you cant do that, then how can you expect a sunni to do that after the shia have beheaded his father?
You’re nothing but a political hack, who lipsynchs bush spin like a mindless puppet with a well oiled jaw. (pun intended).
Checkmate.

Pete, you are a typical Michael Moore, bleeding heart liberal talking head. You are upset because your liberal candidates always lose national elections. You probably worship Howard Dean and despise Democrats like Zell Miller or Joe Lieberman.
I was pretty critical of some of Bush’s policies in my posting.
If you bothered to check facts, BOTH Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, among other Democrats also said Iraq had WMD’s, Yet Bush is the only one you left wingers accuse of lying.
I do not believe ISlam is a peaceful religion and have no desire to visit a Mosque. I support Israel 110% and that will never change.
I do not view Islam in a favorable light. I do believe that Mohammad was a demon.

Comments like those of Norma Lee have no place anywhere. The comment should have been censored since their is only anger and no content involved.
DEBBIE: Both Senator Clinton and Senator Kerry based their decisions to support the war on the “intelligence” provided by the White House. When the Mr. Bush stated that the Iraqis had WMD, the Congress was trusting him to rise above political considerations and tell the country the truth. Obviously Mr. Bush did not honor that trust and knowingly used intelligence that was no longer considered accurate.

Debbie,
How soon you forget! Not but a few years ago Joe Lieberman was one of those “bleeding-heart” liberals you speak of. Houckster, makes a very valid point. The President took full advantage of the situation at hand and blatantly lied. They had no proof, but he took advantage of the bi-partisanship of the day and of the situation and completely violated that trust.
But here’s the question that I have for you, how is it possible to give 110%, if 100% is all we can possibly give? Just curious.

We always welcome the president to Georgia and Atlanta, especially! Or should I say Cobb County, part of the “Donut”. The Pres is having a very good summer. His vacation was very short this year, in part, because of his new neighboor at the Ranch. You know that lady who loved him so much she spent part of her dead son’s insurance money to buy five acres next door. I loved what he had to say at the Veterans Convention! You see me and my two brothers are veterans, but not many people are Veterans these days. You know like the VP and Sec. of Defense, and many others. A lot of these pople who never wore the uniform like to boast about how patriotic they are and the rest of us are not. Especially those of us who disagree with them about Iraq. They can always join up!

The Dems were supplied with the SAME intelligence the White House had. Everyone at the time thought Saddam had WMD’s - even the Russians. The Dems and Clinton Administration even said Saddam had WMD’s. Are you saying the Clinton Administration lied, too?
OB, Cindy Sheehan is a publicity w******* that is using her son’s death to gain publicity for herself. Her ex and his family have distanced themselves from her. They are Casey’s family, too and disagree with what she is doing. The left wing news media ignores them.
I have a cousin that spent 18 months in Iraq flying Black Hawks. He was at Camp Ananconda and he supports the war in Iraq. He said the overwhelming majority in the military do as well. It is just people like you that don’t.

Interesting:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2089-2340352,00.html Friends of Hillary hint she may pull out of presidential race Sarah Baxter
FRIENDS of Hillary Clinton have been whispering the unthinkable. Despite her status as the runaway frontrunner for the 2008 Democratic nomination for president, some of her closest advisers say she might opt out of the White House race and seek to lead her party in the Senate. The former first lady longs to return to the White House with husband Bill as consort. Only last week she told television viewers America would be led by a woman one day. “Stay tuned, she said.
First, however, she has to win the election. Some Democratic party elders — the American equivalent of the Tories’ “men in grey suits — say Clinton may back out of the race of her own volition.
“I would not be surprised if she were to decide that the best contribution she can make to her country is to forget about being president and become a consensus-maker in the Senate, said a leading Democratic party insider. “She believes there is no trust between the two political sides and that we can’t function as a democracy without it.
As senator for New York, Clinton has forged alliances across party lines with leading Republicans such as Senator John McCain and Newt Gingrich, the former speaker of the House of Representatives. In the eyes of the electorate, however, she is a potentially divisive figure.
A recent poll for Time magazine showed that 53% of the electorate said they had a favourable impression of Clinton and only 44% viewed her negatively, figures that President George W Bush can only dream of at the moment. Even so, 53% of independent voters said they would not vote for her.
“The prospect of a Hillary for President campaign has put much of the Democratic establishment in a bind, Time concluded. “The early line is that Hillary would be unstoppable in a Democratic primary but unelectable in a general election.
The solution, insiders say, is for Clinton to take over as Senate minority leader in 2009 from the lacklustre Harry Reid, senator for Nevada. One well-respected blog, The Washington Note, recently claimed that Reid privately told Clinton the job was hers if she gave up her presidential ambitions.
Reid’s office denied it, but the claim made its way into the Los Angeles Times where it was suggested she would make a “superlative Senate leader while keeping her options open for the 2012 presidential race.
Clinton has raised a whopping $33m for her Senate re-election campaign in New York, which is likely to result in an emphatic victory for her in November. The leftover sums can be switched to a presidential bid. The size of her war chest is a sure sign that she intends to be ready to campaign at full tilt the moment she presses the “go button.
Her final decision is likely to be made next spring. One close friend of the Clintons said: “There is no way she won’t run for president. According to a member of “Hillaryland, her close-knit inner-circle, she would be letting herself and her supporters down if she declined to take a shot at the White House.
Others are not so sure. If she balks at the presidency, “she can win a huge amount of goodwill by donating her money to colleagues in the Senate, another associate said.
Terry McAuliffe, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee and a close friend of the Clintons, believes she will be able to see off all challenges in primary elections should she stand. “She is very tough and very determined. Nobody is going to think she is not strong enough on national security. If she decides to run, clearly she will have the necessary resources and she will give people reasons to vote for her.
Among them, McAuliffe believes, will be former President Bill Clinton. “He is a gigantic asset. He is probably the most popular politician in the world.
On one subject, Clinton’s friends are united. They all believe that Bill, her closest adviser, wants her to go for it.
