Support Darryl Hicks, see the world

With a Democratic finale blazing in the 4th District congressional race, Darryl Hicks — who finished second last week behind Gail Buckner in the Democratic race for secretary of state — has a good chance of breaking Chuck Bullock’s run-off odds mentioned below.

Hicks is African-American. Buckner is white.

But to win the run-off, Hicks needs money. And he’s tapping some interesting friends. Atlanta music mogul Jermaine Dupri and a slew of other black entertainers, athletes and such have lined up for an Aug. 3, $250-a-head fund-raiser at Cafe Dupri (a “health-minded restaurant”) in Buckhead.

One name on the list that especially pops: Dallas Austin, a recent resident of Dubai.

It would be great to see someone like Darryl Hicks win the Georgia Secretary of State race! He definitely has the experience to efficiently operate the office and he is not sandbagged with negative politics and promises. It would be refreshing to see him, as the underdog in the race, break Chris Bullock’s run-off odds. Go Darryl!

I hear Darryl has the support, among others, of entertainment attorney Phaedra Parks who probably has a lot to do with this event taking off. What Hicks — running for the very first time — and his and his small but supremely gifted campaign team have done so far is nothing short of amazing. Signs and billboards everywhere, not just in Atlanta, but throughout the state. He won some of the smallest counties in South Georgia because he went there time and time again, shook hands, and asked for EVERYONE’s vote. No concerted political effort to get him elected — even though his election would make history in Georgia politics. No backdoor deals. Just a downhome message of competency and commitment to service. What a refreshing candidate. I hope that the impact of JDupri/DAustin/etc. is people will care enough to watch Wednesday night’s debate and compare the two candidates’ messages and qualifications. This race pits two good people with good intentions, but if the voters are really listening, Darryl wins the Democratic nomination with ease on Tuesday, August 8th.

Yes it will be refreshing to have Darryl Hicks as our next Secretary of State. He is running this campaign with class, dignity and integrity but most importantly the experience that deems him qualified to fulfill the duties of Secretary of State.

Please vote Darryl Hicks on Tuesday, August 8th. GO Darryl!!!!!!!!

I hope Gail wins. I don’t consider her a great candidate but Daryl is plain dumb. He’s a fake, lie, and lacks integrity. The democratic party conceded this race when they left reddy and holcomb out of the run-off. The Republicans will take this office with ease.

By the way, the three posts above are from Hicks campaign.

Why doesn’t Hicks have this photo on his website?

I think he’s running for the wrong party - not that he has any chance of winning, regardless of the party banner he carries.

According to the link, Hicks was presented the award for his diligent service to Habitat for Humanity International. (BTW, it is an organization important to low-income adults trying to get their first home and is endorsed by people like Former Pres. Jimmy Carter and Oprah Winfrey.) On top of that, he got a lot of praise by the Dean of Georgia State for the award and his study in their MBA program. The award is nothing to be ashamed about, regardless of the presenter.

Personally, I can’t think of a more qualified and fitting Christian, candidate and public servant (w/o the politics) for the office of SOS. He will definitely be a great asset to the citizens of Georgia.

I think Darryl Hicks will become an outstanding Secretary of State. It says a lot about Georgia that it’s citizens focus on the content of a candidate’s character rather than the color of their skin. May God bless Darryl Hicks, Georgia’s next Secretary of State!
