Always a show-off when it comes to fund-raising

One of our spotters found this in The Hill, the newspaper that covers the Capitol — the one in D.C.:

“Wal-Mart’s contributions to national political candidates have increased steadily in recent years, and Republicans are on the receiving end of most of the giving. In the 2004 election cycle, Wal-Mart’s PAC gave more than $1.3 million to Republicans and $370,000 to Democrats.

“Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) received the most, with $17,500, and dozens got $10,000 or more.”

Gingrey is a redneck bluelite special.

This is a perfect example on why lobbying, special interest groups and the whole idea of paid for Congressmen should be outlawed.

I live in Gingery’s District. This man is a disgrace. I must ask: is this the best we can do? Can’t we find someone better than this guy?
Does anyone out there really think that WalMart gave him all that cash for nothing?
What is it that appeals to you , Phil? Is it the $7 per hour wages, or is it the total lack of benefits for most of their workforce?

@Van…You’re exactly right, why does the American people allow this “purchase of politicians” by corporations to continue? @Tim…You’re right, WalMart is NOT giving him or any of these guys THAT much money and not expecting anything in return. And finally @ GodHatesTrash…You’re still an idiot!

To Ugotta B. Kidding: why do the American people allow this? Because they keep voting along party lines. About your comment to “GodHatesTrash” - no name-calling allowed, you poopie-head!

Hi Larry: I realize that people keep voting along party lines, BECAUSE we’re forced to vote for the LESSER OF 2 EVILS. And like the saying, “You always do what you you always done and you always get what you always got!” In this case it’s corrupt self-serving politicians and the games continue… And you’re right, I agree, I shouldn’t call GodHatesTrash an idiot, he makes an IDIOT of himself on here with his nonsense and name calling.
