Next up: Stephens challenges Handel to produce her high school yearbook portrait
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
When last we heard from the two Republican pugilists in the race for secretary of state, the mouthpiece for Bill Stephens had heaped scorn on former vice president Dan Quayle’s endorsement of rival Karen Handel.
The best spellers are lining up with Stephens, she said.
In nuclear retaliation, the Handel campaign has reminded the world of Stephens’ Democratic past. They’ve handed out this shot of Stephens at the ‘92 Democratic National Convention in New York, where Gov. Zell Miller, Stephens’ former boss, gave the keynote address.
Stephens, through spokeswoman and champion speller Katie Grove, has confirmed that the fellow on the right is himself. A Democratic source tells us that the guy with the Clinton-Gore sign and fishing hat is Jim Butler, the Columbus attorney and former member of the state natural resources board.
No booze in the hands of either man, and no floozies at their sides.
This is fun. But of limited use in a battle to get on the same ticket with Sonny Perdue, another former Democrat — and Handel’s old boss.

Handel, Stephens and their respective mouthpiece are four certifiable nut cases.
Move over “Gov” GasGuy.
Let’s not leave out GasGuy’s mouthpiece, too.
Nuts, one and all.

Amazing the Stephens says he’s a conservative. Handel is a true conservative, not one who decided to switch when they thought it might be cool. Don’t forget that Zell didn’t switch.

For the record Bill switched long before it was cool, he also was instumental in helping many others who realized the Democratic party had been hijacked by socialist union group and the entitlement class switch parties. Now for the curious question how can a Fulton County Chair ever be considered conservative even the Republicans from Fulton for the most part are squishy not conservative. If you want to comapre look where Karen Handel is from and how it works and then look to the Georgia Mountains where Bill is from and see if one isn’t clearly more conservative than the other.

Bill Stephens was Bill Clinton’s biggest fan when the photograph was taken — introduced a lot of Georgians to Clinton.

Quayle was a conservative before it was cool. Stephens was late to the party.
