We have Murphy Brown on Line 4
Once on the chalk board, forever in our hearts. Dan Quayle's spelling lives again
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Karen Handel and Bill Stephens, two Republican candidates for secretary of state, have agreed to produce the week’s most entertaining exchange.
It’s darn near vaudevillian.
On Wednesday, Handel announced her endorsement by the Family Quayle, both Dan and Marilyn. Handel served as deputy chief of staff to Marilyn Quayle, part of the office of the vice president, for nearly four years.
Sniffed Katie Grove, Stephens’ campaign manager, to InsiderAdvantage: “At least all of Bill’s endorsers can spell ‘potato.’”
Oh, dear. Handel’s people called the comment “inexplicable” and “disrespectful.”
And they accused Stephens, a former Democrat, of campaigning against Quayle in ’92, by supporting the Clinton-Gore ticket. “He is a Republican now and he should start acting like it,” said Handel campaign manager Marty Ryall
Grove says she stands by her statement. And her spelling.

The potato episode was unfair. Dan Q. was just going along with the teacher’s f-up in the classroom. He was given a teacher-produced card to read, and he read it. Politics aside, he was set up.

Sad to see Stephens attack a former Vice President of the United States. It shows something about Stephens character, which is tainted at best.

Please, people. Sounds like Ms. Grove has a good sense of humor. Lighten up!

Good sense of humor? ‘Attack’ is the word of the day. Perhaps Stephens can include the other duties a SoS should do instead of being so focused on elections. And I love how wrong he was on his little email about certain two people being registered to vote in GA even though they were dead. Hey Bill and staff, if you had’ve done your homework you would have known those two people in your example weren’t even registered in GA. If you can’t even keep up with registered voters for campaign arguments how can you do so while in office?

Well, Stephens doesn’t deserve to win this position and hopefully Handel will prevail.
I imagine that if Stephens is the nominee, we’ll be hearing A LOT about ethics violations, fines, and what not from Democrats given Stephens past sanctions. I’d say the upper hand in a Stephens/Reddy race goes to Reddy, who from what I hear from friends is a very bright and able young attorney.
Back Handel and we’ll win on her ability, credentials, and experience.
