Time for the 2nd annual Woody Awards!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Now that everything is as it should be and right in this world; and the cosmic balance of GOOD prevailing over evil has been restored
(coughs)Go Gators(coughs)
it is time to renew what I hope to be an annual tradition I started last year.
Yes, it’s time for the 2nd Annual Woody Awards!
The purpose of the Woody Awards is to highlight Gwinnett County in 2008. Categories range on a variety of topics including recognizing the extraordinary accomplishments of extraordinary Gwinnettians and to flashback to the infamous and embarrassing moments of 2008.
Last years Gwinnettian of the Year award went to Officer Craig Lake of the Gwinnett County Police Department who took a bullet to the chest in the line of duty.
This year, I am looking for your nominations for individuals who, like Officer Lake, went above and beyond the call of duty. Maybe someone whose utterly unselfish act will change another persons life forever. They are the face of Gwinnett. This is THE Woody Award and only the best will do.
Another carry over award from last year, will be Gwinnett’s Biggest Embarrassment. Last year, this award very deservedly went to Laura Mallory who went out of her way to make herself (and Gwinnett County) a complete laughing stock across the entire globe - over Harry Potter. Your nominations for the biggest embarrassment doesn’t have to be a person, it can be a inanimate. The more ridiculous or insane the better.
Illegal Immigration ruled the news last year, and because of that it earned the award for Gwinnett’s Biggest Story of the Year. This year has certainly had its share of big stories. Elections. Major Drug busts. Baseball. I want to know what you consider the biggest most important story of the year.
Some other Awards I am considering this year are:
The Hot Seat Award - This will be awarded to the Gwinnett politician or leader who, well lets just say either they had better shape up quick or they will be looking for another job. I need to know who, their position and why you feel that way.
Best City in Gwinnett - This goes out to those incorporated cities of Gwinnett. I want some serious smack talk about which is the best city in Gwinnett. Norcross? Lilburn? Duluth? Lawrenceville? Snellville? You let me know who should have bragging rights to being the best in Gwinnett.
You never know what other categories I may come up with between now and the end of the year but in the meantime now is your chance to develop your argument, make your case and convince me to select your nomination for each of these categories.

Gwinnett’s most incompetent Bloggers:
2.Woody “The Buffoon” Bass.
Their combined insipid musings have made Gwinnett lose 10-15 IQ points. We all wish we were Illegals, so we couldn’t understand what these two morons have written.
Don’t take it too hard guys, I’m sure your 1 man fan club, Stan, will be along to defend you any minute.

Two things for today:
First…
Congrats to Obama on making history. I hope this issues in a new era where stereotypes never take a forefront to the real issues.
I would love to say I wish this was an end to partisan bickering and other nonsense… but Im afraid its just going to get worse before people realize the Party system in this country is why nothing ever gets accomplished - and perhaps becomes our demise.
Second…
Michael Crichton died today. May he rest in peace. Time Line is still one of the best books I have ever read. I will sorely miss him.

Best Mom:
Woody’s mom.
Like Sara Palin, she brought forth a child that has an extra chromosome. Her son even got himself writing a blog despite proving his imbecile status on a weekly basis.
She selflessly washes his clothes, fixes his meals, cleans his room and defends him against people who point out what a moron her son really is.

Woodie,
For Gwinnett’s Biggest Embarrassment, I would like to throw out LT5000. He is an embarrassment to conservatives everywhere.

As predicted, here comes the Woody Bass / Rick Badie 1 man fan club, STAN.
Perhaps he just nominated himself as Woody’s Biggest A* Kisser.
Keep it up Stan and Woody may take you to IHOP for lunch. Of course, the price of that meal would be to sit there and listen to Woody blather on.
And while Woody pens this imbecilic blog, the real news is happening out there. Yes, Georgia is actually deporting Illegals, and not to Norcross either.
Though I have to wonder if they were “deported” like Obama’s auntie.

Today’s Illegal Immigrant News:
Suspect identified in home invasion, rape
Police believe Isreal Santiago Hernandez, 38, was part of a three-man crew who burst into a trailer off Buford Highway on Oct. 22, 2007, and forcibly sodomized a Hispanic woman in front of her family, who were bound and held at gunpoint.
*The DNA matched Hernandez, who’d been imprisoned in South Carolina on drug trafficking charges after his alleged crimes in Gwinnett. *
*But investigators were discouraged to find Hernandez had already been released to immigration officials and deported to Mexico, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli. *

I see LT still seems to think this blog should only be about illegal immigrants.
Talk about narrow minded. He cant even come up with a nomination for someone who is trying to DO something about the immigration problem and instead blabbers on and on and on “OH WHOA IS ME!! I CANT THINK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE BUT THOSE EVIL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ALL AROUND ME” when they have been around him for decades.
WE KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM DUMBA$$! It didnt just happen over night and its not gonna be corrected (if at all) over night either. Grow the hell up or go start your own damn blog and write about illegal immigration every day if you want and spare the rest of us your idiotic banter.

I agree with uh huh.. While i do not live directly in gwinnett i agree.. there are plenty of people who have done a lot of good in the area. I personally would like to hear about them. Hear their stories and what they did for their fellow neighbors friends or family. Please stop the bad mouthing and do what this blog is about.

Uh Huh and Agree,
I realize you two idiots think that Woody’s awards are more important that Illegal Immigration. But, as so many half-wits before, you spouted off too soon.
Maybe if you morons decided to read my earlier posts you would see that I posted a link to the Deportation efforts in Georgia.
You see, if you do a little research before you write, it minimizes you chances of coming off like a complete imbecile.

While illegal immigration will continue to be a hot issue Woodrow, it will become the sub-text of the larger front-burner hot- news-topic that no doubt will consume the focus of everyone:
Hottest issue: The Economy
Hot-seat award: Toss up between Bannister or Nasuti
Biggest Embarrassment: Yet to be determined
Best City: Yet to be determined
There it is Woodrow.
I could be nasty and wake up your blog by tossing out the passage of California’s Prop 8 where the sore losers can’t accept a legitimate ballot defeat.
That gal on the news reel rallying a bunch of whiners shouting let’s show them what kind of people we are! I think I already know that answer. The kind of people who can’t accept the passage of a state constitutional amendment that was voted on by the citizens of California.
Don’t forget California went for Obama and is a very liberal state, so you can’t blame those old mean right-wing-nut jobs. No way. Far too many liberal voters for the hard-core religious zealots to have made the difference.

Biggest Mouth/Body Size Ratio award: LT5000, for eliciting not agreement or even anger from fellow bloggers, but only sadness and pity.
Best Human Thesaurus: again, LT5000 for using all of these insults in one short post: “idiots”, “morons”, “half-wits”, “imbecile”. Also of course, there was the obligatory mention of “Illegal Immigration” and “Deportation”. All in all, an archetypical blowhard post from LoserTroll5000. Spot on, douchebag!

Late to the Part Award: charliejoe.
The inbred hayseed is chronically a day late and a dollar short. A high school education doesn’t increase your earning potential these days.
Maybe he should be listening to Dave Ramsey instead of cruising the local grade schools with a handful of sweets.
