With the drought should Lawrenceville have July 4 fireworks?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
June 9, 2007
So far, Gwinnett residents don’t have to worry about canceled fireworks for the Fourth of July. But organizers of Independence Day celebrations realize it’s a possibility.
The Gwinnett County Fire Department does not expect to recommend canceling the pyrotechnic displays, unlike the Roswell Fire Department, which said it will call off the fireworks unless rain breaks the drought.
As of Friday, officials said that Independence Day fireworks shows in Braselton, Buford, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Stone Mountain and Sugar Hill are going forth as planned. The planner for Norcross’ fireworks show could not be reached Friday.
Various officials said that there had been discussions about the drought and the fireworks, which could pose a fire hazard in dry conditions.
With the ongoing drought do you think Lawrenceville should have a fireworks show on July 4?

I hope the fireworks don’t get canceled in Fulton Co., otherwise me and my kin will have to be shooting our Glocks n shotguns up in the air to celebrate the 4th.

Yes, they should. But why does everything have to happen on the square? There is a fairgrounds which would allow more persons to enjoy
