The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
GOP blogs are all abuzz about U.S. Rep. John Linder taking back his presidential campaign endorsement of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and handing it to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Peachpundit.com, which posted the Georgia GOP congressman’s press statement last week, has garnered scores of comments about the endorsement switch.
Some accused Linder of flip-flopping his endorsement because of Huckabee’s climb to front-runner status. Linder defenders said politicians switch endorsements all the time.
One critic called Linder’s switch “a hypocritical and unprincipled move.”
Another asked, “Will Linder endorse Hillary this time next year?”
Still another person said, “There is nothing wrong with Linder switching support unless he is doing it just to be on the winning team.”
The comments are interesting to read, but Linder’s reversal seems unlikely to have any lasting consequences. That is, unless Romney gets elected.

Other than his own vote, Linder’s Huck-pimping affects nothing. Boortz proves himself a rank hypocrite by pimping for Huckabee, since the fat Babtist is anti-gay, anti-abortion and pro-theocracy. But, Huckleberry is FOR the “fair tax” snake oil, so boretz suckles at huck-teat.

Huckabee supports the Fair Tax, which is a John Linder proposal. Huckabee supports the Fair Tax with enthusiasm.

Anyone interested in a funny (but it really happened) column about what Huckabee is really like face-to-face should try: http://goupstate.us/index.php/lanefiller/2007/11/02/title_14

The only thing Linder could possibly endorse with meaning would be therapy for his speech impediment. And, that’s only if it helped.

Lane, Anyone who wants to know what Huck is REALLY like will be sophisticated enough to look at his record. People will only be fooled by this liberals Arkansas sweet talk for so long and then realize he is horrible on immigration, is eager to raise taxes (and has dramatically), and let 1033 criminal loose - 12 murderers - 2 times more than the previous 3 governors combined! I have no doubt he is a nice guy (get out of jail free.) but his record is going to sink him. We don’t need a pro-gun, pro life liberal in the White House when we can have a brilliant, pro-life, pro-gun conservative - Romney!
