Gwinnett’s most influential women: Who did we forget?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
From educators to politicians and even doctors, we chose some of Gwinnett’s most influential women. But maybe we left someone off our list.
If it were up to you, who would be added?

In my opinion Jeannine Rispin needs to be on your list. She is on the Suwanee City Council and has been very influential in the formation of our award winning city for more than 15 years. She is highly respected in her profession and is active in many Gwinnett organizationa including Leadership Gwinnett and Leadership georgia. She is one who works very effectively behind the scenes.

The only woman I’ve ever heard of in that county is Kay Kim. Her billboards are everywhere!

Hello AJC!
As per your request in the Gwinnett Section of Today’s AJC, I do believe you overlooked one woman as the being one of our County’s most influential women and that is Sharon Rigsby Bartels, President of Gwinnett Technical College. I was amazed that she wasn’t in the top ten. Under her leadership this year alone she has had staff win leadership awards like the Student Services Coordinator Rachel Mariano who won an award under the State of Georgia’s Public Employee Recognition Program for her outstanding leadership capabilities and community efforts. Then Daimler Chrysler College Automotive Program was named best manufacturer-affiliated automotive program in the nation by the Automotive Industry Planning Council, which is held at Gwinnett Tech. In addition the latest report from the Technical College System of Georgia named Gwinnett Tech as the 2007 leader in student enrollment and graduate figures. I’m sure there are other awards too, not to mention all of the community service Mrs. Bartels is involved with. I might also add that I read these announcements in your paper. Hopefully, you find a way to recognize her deeds and accomplishments that have helped put our county on the national map.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Jeff

So, Green is a Georgia Tech grad. Well, that explains why she is an arrogant know-nothing. Poor deluded child actually thinks she can win a county-wide election.

Marsha Bomar Anderson! She holds a City Council seat for the City of Duluth, runs a full-time business Street Smarts, Inc.), gives of her time and herself for the community and still worries about whether the local high schools have raised enough funds for band/music programs and other activities. A fabulous woman!

Juanita Bynum wasn’t on the list because she the same self promoting self centered person her husband is. When you’re a minister and your internal motto is “It’s all about me” you’re no role model for anyone or anything.
