Green: Let the fund raising begin

Lorraine Green, the Gwinnett County commissioner who hopes to unseat Chairman Charles Bannister, held her first campaign fund-raiser Friday.

She collected $50,000 at the 1818 Club in Duluth.

Green has a long way to go to catch up with Bannister. His latest campaign disclosure report shows that he has six times that much to spend.

Fortunately, she has actually DONE some great things, rather than just merely talking the talk as Chuck has done. The grass roots will take hold, the Poss Supersized HOA and deep pocketed developers notwithstanding. Let’s take our county back!

For the life of me I’ve never understood how Lorraine Greene gets a pass by the homeowner orthodoxy when she can walk into the 1818 Club and collect $50,000. Yes, Gwinnett, that is a lot of money.

So since Bannister takes money from the 1818 crowd that means he’s not for homeowners? Perhaps all the businesses that gave Bannister $600,000 are now rethinking supporting him?

Bannister’s style is to throw mud and attempt to sully the reputation who have more ethics in their pinky that Bannister will ever have. And the worst part is Bannister doesn’t have the guts to do the dirty work himself. He simply dispatches Dunn, Poss, Thorndyke and Van Gundy to do his bidding.

In fact, the only time you’ll see the words “Bannister” and “ethics” in the same sentence it will always be in the context of “ethics violation” … a phrase that Mr. Dunn and Mr. Thorndyke are quite familiar with as well having been found guilty of several each.

Dunn’s posts in this forum are simply his first attempt to run for public office again. I thought Dunn was done.

I think Charlie has a long ways to go to catch up to Lorraine Green’s dust.

Broken Windows

Ordnance aimed to eliminate unauthorized workers benefiting from county contracts

Now, her water agenda under the blog section of her campaign Website that is a model for the State.

She has my vote.

Sad to see Dunn out from under his rock again. He and Chuck are two of a kind. Bannister has similarly done zero for Gwinnett in comparison to Lorraine. Indeed, Chuck has his hatchet men out and about, gathering cash from Poss’s fake “Super HOA”, not to mention the rest of his homeowner antagonistic crowd. Ironically, Wayne Hill learned the lesson that bucks don’t buy elections, as will Chuck.

Hey, Dunn - how about the $30,000 finders fee Charlie made on the Lilburn Library (from taxpayers) when he was a state level minion - was THAT ok? guess you’d think so, given your rezoning follies on property you happened to own.

All right kids, your insults on my character are duly noted. But none of you answered the question: Why is Lorraine Green allowed to take developer money and still be the homeowners’ friend? Can any of you answer that without resorting to invective?

And all of you take note: I am using my real name. What are you afraid of that you won’t use yours?

Hey John -

Just because an event is held at the 1818 Club doesn’t mean it’s a bunch of developers.

Lots of us average businessmen belong to the club. And we make campaign donations as well.

Unless, of course, that’s the only folks YOU ever dealt with John.

Not going to get into a big discussion with a few anonymous wannabees that don’t have the guts to use their real names.

IamWatching… yeah, right… so what… You’re a nobody unless you’re willing to enter the arena with your identity.

I will challenge this one thing though at this point…

What dirty bidding has ANY of the four of us you named done? It sure looks like it is those of you posting AGAINST Charles that are slinging the crap and doing dirty bidding.

Not a single bit of so-called “bidding”, of any kind, has been done by any of the four of us you named. It is all in your Dunn, Poss, Thorndyke, and VanGundy obsessed imagination!

As I stated… the only place that nasty accusations and negativity is coming from is SOLELY from a few discontents that are too pathetic to even use their own names.

No different from the crap that was pulled by Bill McKinney anonymously…

I’ll be waiting for even 1 example of whatever the hell you are talking about that even remotely resembles me doing any “bidding”.

In the mean time I’ll also observe all of the “bidding” being done by anonymous political losers.

A special open note to Lorraine: I don’t intend to do any “bidding” against you. And I would suggest that you take a higher road yourself and suggest to your supporters that all of this ridiculous nasty rhetoric is not the way in which you wish to be represented in this campaign either…. If nothing else… it will get quite tedious… if not boring if this is the way in which this campaign is going to be waged from your side…
