Kevin Kenerly came up with a blunt way to inform potential buyers and trespassers that the property they’re interested in has been cited for violating the county’s zoning codes.
“Why don’t we just put up a big yellow sign that says ‘This Property Sucks,’ ” Kenerly said.
The District 4 commissioner made this suggestion during a meeting with his elected colleagues and county staffers about changing the county’s property maintenance ordinance.
Sounds OK with us, but would Kenerly’s placard be OK under Gwinnett’s sign ordinance?

Could they expand that to place a similar sign, reading This County Sucks. Perhaps hang it on the Welcome to Gwinett County billboard amongst the Kiwanas, Lion Club and other civic organizations.
Gwinett Arena certainly needs a “This Venue Sucks” sign.
Jimmy Carter Boulevard most definitely needs a “This Traffic Sucks” sign.
The street sweeper that is so desparately needed as my oak is dropping leaves like a prom dress, needs a sign reading “This machine Sucks.”

Preston, if “this county sucks,” why do you still live here? If the “traffic sucks,” I bet your moving van could still get into it, and eventually carry your stuff somewhere else. And before you leave, if you ever do, please learn how to spell “Gwinnett.”

Kevin Kenerly needs to wear a sign that says “I suck.” He’s the poorest example of a county commissioner and an embarassment to District 4.

Who is Kenerly to joke about how a property looks? He only approves nice developments for areas near his home, the rest of District 4 he could care less.
As much as I try to vote Kenerly out, his underhanded dealings with developers keep him in office. The day he leaves office is the day District 4 will celebrate and hopefully recover.

I agree with Al, this county would suck less if we got rid of all of the illegals. Back when I first moved here in the late 70’s, Gwinnett was such a nice quiet, clean place to live. Now, we should rename it Mexico.

If a house is in violation of code…then it really does suck folks. Come on. If the house were right next to you….maybe the suck sign would be a bit more appealing!

Unfortunately, that ain’t gonna happen. Our government is turning their heads, and don’t see this as a problem. It is a problem that has gotten WAY out of hand, and now it’s too big to do anything about it.
Now I understand the illegals will be given social security benefits. That’s nice…….I bust my hump for all these years, and I will get nothing because the illegals will suck the system dry. And why not, no one is stopping them. All you hear are complaints, the blogs are full or complaints, but yet our President wants another 48 BILLION dollars for the “wars” in Iraq and Afganistan. But will not address the illegal problems our country is facing.
I say let’s build that damn fence along our southern border.
When did we start working for the government? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Why don’t we vote these jerks out of office? We are becoming sheep people.
Wake up and let’s do something, and quit waiting around for our government to do anything about this growing problem.

I hope the rallying few have a candidate I mind to run for the D4 seat. My understanding is Kevin will not run again for that post. I also hope whoever steps up to the plate isn’t some HOA dictator, someone who is abrasive and acrimonious or the puppet of a select few. It’s not hard to find what sucks; no one needs a sign to figure it out. We’ve got some things that suck in this county – which would hold true for State and Country as well – that must be dealt with by sensible people that have “can do” attitudes that don’t suck.
PS. I’m not into renaming Gwinnett , Mexico. I’m fighting to reclaim it as the American county that it is, surrender is not an option.

The only Mexicans I want in this Country, State and County are the ones who are here legally and got here by legal means that are trying to work in becoming Americans. All others who desire to remain in any part Mexican should return to Mexico.

Uh, aren’t you referring to northern Fulton and Cobb Counties. Last I checked, most people living in Gwinnett are working middle class that usually cannot afford those things.
