Huntsville copies Gwinnett’s anti-illegal immigration law
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Beginning Oct. 1, contractors looking for work from the government of Madison County, Ala., will have to abide by the same anti-illegal immigration policies that the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners adopted in June.
Madison County Commissioner Mo Brooks told the Huntsville Times a couple of weeks ago that the ordinance he drafted was specifically modeled after Gwinnett’s amended purchasing ordinance.
Among changes approved by the Gwinnett commissioners on June 26, all county contractors must verify that all of their employees are legal U.S. residents. The changed ordinance also empowers county auditors to periodically inspect the records of these companies and interview their workers.
Some contractors initially balked at Gwinnett’s ordinance over the employee-verification requirements, which they considered difficult, if not impossible, to comply with.
A friendly follow-up interpretation of the ordinance by county staff allayed many of the contractors’ concerns.

It is great to see America wake up once again.
Back in the sixties the Main Stream Media had us all believing that we believed everyone believed what they said we believed. When the Beatles first came out we became a divided nation on the trivial matter of whether we liked them or not. Then we all started comparing notes on other things. We found many new allies and new friends. Even those that believed things we didn’t were not so scary anymore. We all gained a new respect for each other and for ourselves.
Don’t forget those town hall meetings. Before we can restore law and order in our streets we are going to have to restore law and order in our government. Watch those that stand up to the criminals in the government in those meetings. They may make good replacement candidates.

Actually, a replacement candidate (now in office as a county commissioner) got Gwinnett’s current law on the books. She’s doing a great job.

It is a start - however by my visual inspection of the area where I live - I do not see much difference. The group of “illegal lawbreakers” are still loitering and begging for work. The illegals are everywhere. It is just unacceptable. I believe all incumbents must be replaced by ones that will serve the legal American citizens they are supposed to represent!

I don’t see a whole lot of difference. During a recent stop in one of our county schools, there were painting and carpeting crews all around the building. Every single member of these crews, some 12-16 strong, were hispanics. None were speaking even broken English except for the crew supervisor. Laws are great but actions are what matter.

Bill:
Remember that the School Board controls what happens at the schools, not the Board of Commissioners.
It’s amazing to me that people complain about the BOC but never once flinch at the abuses of Alvin Wilbanks and his band of groupies on the school board.

When some regularization path for the undocumented workers happens (because it will happen), I hope that undocumented workers leave Georgia in droves and give that cruel, backward, hypocrite State a lesson. Why paying taxes and contribute with your work to a State that enjoys taking cheap shots at you all the time? Let Sonny Perdue, Chip Rogers & Co pick your vegetables and roof your houses.

No one was complaining about the illegal immigrants when they used them for everything imaginable at a very cheap labor cost. I personally feel that every hardworking, law abiding illegal should be given a chance to apply for legal citizenship. For every lazy, law breaking, gang banging illegals, they should be deported immediately. If you want to stay in the U.S, you must be a law abiding citizen, especially when you broke the law when you came here.

“I personally feel that every hardworking, law abiding illegal should be given a chance to apply for legal citizenship”
To LS: There is no such thing as a “law-abiding illegal”. They broke the law by entering our country illegally. They have every opportunity to apply for legal citizenship but chose not to do it in the proper manner, so they deserve NOTHING. People who do not respect our laws should NEVER get citizenship. That is a priviledge, not a right.
