Harry Potter triumphs

Laura Mallory doesn’t like the fictional boy-wizard, but the Gwinnett County Public Library system is throwing a weeklong bash for him next week.

The party is being held, of course, to celebrate the July 21 release of the seventh and final installment in the popular J.K. Rowling series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” as well as the film adaptation of her fifth book, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”

We find it notable that the library system announced this festival a little over a month after a Gwinnett judge closed the book on Mallory’s lawsuit to have the Potter series taken off school library shelves and banned from the classroom.

Could it be a little reverse publicity for the thrashing Gwinnett County has suffered from national and international new media outlets over the Mallory case?
