Tax scofflaws beware, the auditor’s coming!

Tired of delinquent taxpayers and unreported business fees and taxes, the Gwinnett County Commission last week hired an auditor to help the board collect that money.
Officials estimate the collection effort could result in a net gain of $25,000 for the county.
That sum doesn’t include the 26 percent share for the auditing firm PRA Government Services Inc., which would keep that much of the recovered money.
“This will help keep the playing field level, with everyone paying what is owed,” county administrator Jock Connell said.
