Did the 911 system problems affect you?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Gwinnett County’s 911 system was down for more than an hour Wednesday morning, a police spokesman said.
The system went down about 7 a.m. and was back up around 8:15 a.m..
Were you affected by the problems this morning? Have you noticed any 911 issues in past days?

I understand that things “happen”, but this is very disturbing.
I hope the elected officials get to the bottom of this issue.
Fingers crossed!
I was not affected, but then again we don’t plan emergencies.

Are they sure it was just for 1 hour this a.m.? We had a neighbor call 911 for an ambulance last night around midnight and they didn’t show up until 1:30am, unfortunately too late. . .
THAT IS DISTURBING

Yes, it affected me. I was cutting a tree down in my yard when the chainsaw slipped and cut my hand off. I tried calling 911 with my good hand with the phone propped against my now stub. I tried and tried!! Then I passed out. When I awoke, I saw my dog eating my severed hand.(That ole hound will eat anything). Any way, to make a long story short, I’m going to be known as “stubby” for the rest of my life. Damn you to hell, 911!!!!

Two Outages less than two hours long + One technical glitch in sixteen years of service…. Not very newsworthy.

I’m sure there will be lawsuits about this. Someone out there will feel they deserve to become rich over something that ‘just happens’. Humans make mistakes so therefore computer systems will fail. We build them so they too are not perfect.
Mark, excuse me, Mr Stubby, thanks for the AM laugh, that was a good one.
