Gwinnett Republicans back another actor for the White House
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Fred Thompson, the actor who plays Arthur Branch on NBC’s “Law & Order, topped a list of Republican presidential wannabes at the Gwinnett GOP convention Saturday.
With 62 votes, Thompson bested every Republican who has formally entered the race or is considering running.
That includes former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich (D-Ga.), who garnered 24 votes, and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who received 21 votes.
Thompson is an interesting choice. After all, he’s served as a CIA director, a naval rear admiral, an FBI agent and even the president of the United States — in the movies, that is, the Internet Movie Database reports.
He’s also been a U.S. senator, not just on celluloid, but in real life. Thompson’s acting career was bifurcated by one six-year term as a GOP senator from Tennessee.
Or maybe we’ve got that backward. Thompson, who’s 64, got into politics long before he was an actor. A real-life lawyer, Thompson served as minority counsel on the Watergate committee in 1973, according to a congressional biographical Web page.
Anyone wondering what kind of president Thompson would make might want to rent the HBO movie called “Last Best Chance,” a what-if flick about nuclear terrorism. In it, Thompson shows he can at least talk the talk.
“Watch this,” Thompson’s character says in the movie. “I don’t want us sitting on our butts if something’s about to happen.”
Well at least he didn’t say “bring it on.”

Oh the thoughts of it all, Democrats having to watch 8 years of the new and improved episodes from the Death Valley Days II. What a vision, 40 donkey teams pulling the conservative’s wagon across the barren liberal deserts of elitism.
Ooh where can I get my Fredhead stickers?!
Now giddy up li’l dunkeys’.

Would that not be Death Valley Days III, I believe we’re still in Death Valley Days II. Ah, the Spend and Charge economic policies made famous by the Gipper.

The fall of the Berlin wall the barrow and spend Democrats couldn’t bring down throughout the cold war the Gipper took care of, the morning in America sunrise he brought ending the Jimmy Who Cater darkness that held America in a total funk for years, released hostages, falling gas prices, fall of the evil empire that yielded the so called Clinton “peace dividend” that liberal Bush II blew? Oh yeah we could use a peace hawk guy like Reagan again who actually feared proliferation of nuclear weapons more than any professed peace loving Democrat ever did.
Give me a Thompson, Tancredo or maybe a Hunter any day of the week over any of the rest of those liberals running presently from either party for the Presidency. At least these guys know what the term middle class means. They actually have been there and done that.

The fall of communism by driving us into a massive national debt, Reagan broke the trillion mark, and twice more for good measure. Yes I forgot those wonderful deals, Ronnie let the hostages remain longer for his political benefit and I believe he had other dealings, oh yeah, the Iran-Contra deal. The USSR fell not because of Ronnie, but because they were tied down in Afghanistan for ten years.
Maybe the pollen is fogging up those rose-colored glasses.

Anytime the term Republican is used, the illogical Left come out of the closet with their less than clever analogies.
Suck it up Lefties, America FINALLY caught on to the schemes and power grabs by the Leftists…aka the co-opted Democrat Party.
The latest revision of the Democrat Party does not appeal to the American public as a governing body and the rest of them are just ignorant and emotionally unstable.
Really.
The topic is Fred Thompson…and I would take him or Duncan Hunter over any Democrat at this time.
I am willing to take a chance on an actor….look at the best actor the US has ever seen…Bill Clinton, and y’all loved him.
So, Leftist Losers, go back to your Utopia, we Republicans will take care of things for you, keep you safe at night and keep moving this great nation forward……. BYE!
