Voting today? What are key issues?

Gwinnett County predicted a 30 percent turnout today, but there are indications more voters are showing up. Have you voted or are you planning to? What were the key issues for you? Do you have any predictions on who will control Congress?

Pulling into the church parking lot, I noticed that the lot was quite full. I entered the Youth Bldg to cast my vote and noticed there was a moderate line of folks waiting until the next machine became available. The line moved quickly and so did we. As I left, I turned to see that the line had grown longer and felt good that most folks turned out in spite of the weather. I hope to see more than 30% of a turn out that had been predicted.

secure the border

send the Illegal Aliens home

Fix our Immigration System to allow laborers to enter legally AFTER screening for disease, criminal history, terrorist links and only with a genuine domestic need for labor that cannot be met from our own labor pool.

Out of control spending

I have no doubt that if Bush and Company had paid attention to these issues we would be talking about Republican GAINS in this election instead of fearing the loss of control in the house and senate.

When I voted at the Beach in Acworth, Cobb County, each time I selected a Candidate, the machine filled out the next choice automatically. When I reported this to the worker, She said it was caused by the sleeve on my Jacket. This happened three times so I don’t think my jacket was responsible. I hate to think how many other people did not even notice.

Elections, aren’t they vulnerable to cheating. Think about how many ways this is being done? Vote about it at http://digitalartphotographyfordummies.blogspot.com

I couldn’t wait to cast my vote. However, I will keep my tv on TNT or USA until tomorrow morning. I can’t standing the waiting game. I don’t want to know who’s in charge until it’s final.

The GOP losses have more to do with Iraq and excessive spending, than anything else. But my personal favorite is “They who claim the higher moral standards, have now been shown the light”.

Hey Gwinnett you no never I repeat never vote for a tax increase. On page 8 of my ballot I found Gwinnett County — Special 1% Sales Tax. Vote no on this Tax increase. By voting no you force the government to cut spending this is not to say that the general public will be affected by this but it does mean that the government need to learn to control its spending. It is wanting to gain over $1,100,000,000 and it is my belief that if they cut spending they can make this money up. There is no reason to ever vote for a tax increase. Once the increase is put in place it never goes away. When I go to the Ballots and I vote on amendments I always think will this amendment increase my taxes. Or in some rare cases will this lower my taxes? Such as increasing the taxes on cigarettes or alcohol. Now all these special ad valorem tax referendums will increase my taxes by taking money away from the government even though this is for a good cause it takes money away from the government therefore vote no on them. Constitutional Amendment — To restrict the use of eminent domain is a good thing it prevent the government from taking you land regardless of the cause. This mean if you owned a 10 acre farm and Wal-Mart want to by your land and you say no and the government cant just come in and take it to increase revenue on in that county. I encourage you to look at the ajc voters guide and think will it increase my Taxes? Thanks for being an educated voter. (http://lpe.ajc.com/votersguide/general/area/11)

This was election #98 out of 98 for me. I don’t EVER miss an election. When you’ve been to places like the former USSR and see what it’s like to not have our freedoms you really appreciate them.

I voted in Precinct #156 in Gwinnett. The polling place was changed and no notice was sent. In fact, the precinct/polling place cross reference was wrong for Precinct #156. How could this be?
