Beni Dakar

Beni Dakar is one of several new bloggers around Gwinnett County who we’ll be introducing to ajc.com/gwinnett readers in the next few weeks.

Lke many Gwinnettians, Beni has a multicultural background and is not a native of the county or Georgia. She moved to Gwinnett from Columbia, Maryland, in 1999, and has lived in Norcross, Snellville, and now Duluth.

She thinks that Gwinnett is a microcosm of what the United States will look like as we move deeper into the 21st century. And she believes that Gwinnett can be a prototype of how rich and successful an America of blended cultures can be.

Beni values community and is involved with several civic and volunteer groups. She is a freelance writer and is completing a book about marriage, which is scheduled for publication in 2008.
