The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 46-year-old woman with contributing to the deprivation of a minor for allowing her teenage daughter to live with a 29-year-old man.

The man was arrested last week on child molestation and drug charges.

According to Sgt. Jay Baker, Wanda Simmons knew that her 15-year-old daughter was sexually involved with Kevin Langston. Simmons is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. Simmons was at the Cherokee County jail on $23,000 bond.

Baker said Langston had lived with the Simmons family at several locations in Bartow and Cherokee counties. He had recently moved into his own place and the teenager went with him. The girl is now in state custody.

Investigators believe that Langston had been sexually involved with the teenager for about six weeks.

Langston was charged with aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, manufacturing child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child, contributing to the delinquency of a child and distribution of methamphetamine.

Langston is held at the Cherokee County Jail with no bond.
