One dead, one wounded in northwest Atlanta shooting

One man was killed and another wounded Thursday in an early-morning shooting in northwest Atlanta.
The victims, who were in a light-colored Chevrolet, were shot shortly after 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of Pelham Street, in a neighborhood off Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Atlanta police Detective Ricardo Vazquez said.
One victim, a 24-year-old man, later died at Grady Memorial Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said the second man was in fair condition. Their names were not immediately released.
Police were looking for two armed suspects who got out of a car that had stopped in front of the victims’ vehicle and began firing, riddling the Chevrolet with bullets.
Vazquez said investigators had no description of the second vehicle, and had not determined a motive for the shooting.
