Man chased down, shot in southwest Atlanta

Atlanta police Wednesday were looking for at least three suspects in the overnight shooting death of a man in southwest Atlanta.
Officers responding to a midnight report of gunshots in the 1400 block of Beatie Avenue, in a neighborhood off Metropolitan Parkway, found the victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, Atlanta police Sgt. Bob Creasy said.
The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Atlanta Medical Center.
Creasy said at least three men in a white vehicle chased the victim, who was on foot, from a block away on Desoto Avenue before shooting him.
Police had not determined a motive for the shooting, and had no suspects.
