Clayton County police said a College Park man shot his wife to death Tuesday afternoon, apparently because he thought she was an intruder.
No one has been charged in the death of Andrea Henry, 56, but the incident remains under investigation, Deputy Chief Tim Robinson said.
Henry and her 22-year-old daughter, Alexandria Henry, were walking through the front door of the family apartment on Flat Shoals Road when Henry’s husband, Horace Henry, 60, shot his wife in the neck with a handgun, Robinson said. The daughter was not hurt.
Robinson said Horace Henry told officers he thought somebody was breaking into the house. Robinson said the couple did not have a history of domestic problems. No break-ins had been reported at the apartment, Robinson said.
Andrea Henry was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital where she died.
