Man crushed by dump truck

A construction worker was killed Thursday afternoon at the Cherokee County Airport when he was crushed by a dump truck.

Sgt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s department said the man was standing at the top of a ridge and was not in the driver’s sight-line.

Baker said a worker standing next to the man jumped out of the way and was grazed by the truck but not seriously injured.
