The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office Monday released the name of a man shot and killed early Saturday outside a Fulton Industrial strip club.
Shantez Pitts, 34, of Morrow, died of a gunshot wound to the neck, said Mark Gilbeau, an investigator with the medical examiner’s office.
After being thrown out of Club Babes on Fulton Industrial Circle about 4 a.m., two men got guns from a car and fired at nightclub security guards, Fulton police Cpl. Gary Syblis said.
The guards fired back, killing Pitts and sending the second man, whose name has not been released, to Grady Memorial Hospital with a shoulder wound. The guards were not injured.
In a separate weekend incident less than a mile away, a 30-year-old man was found shot to death early Sunday in a room at the Efficiency Lodge on Wendell Drive at Fulton Industrial Boulevard, Gilbeau said.
The identity of that man, who lived at the motel, was being withheld Monday until relatives could be notified. Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
