Suspected gunman in clerk’s shooting arrested

The suspected gunman in Tuesday night’s fatal shooting of a northwest Atlanta convenience store clerk has been arrested, Atlanta police said Friday.

David Leeks, 24, of Adairsville, was arrested without incident Thursday outside a Bartow County motel, Atlanta police spokesman Joe Cobb said.

Leeks is held in the Fulton County Jail, charged with murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Zerit Haileslasie, 39, was shot several times during a robbery at the Shell station at 3195 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway.
