A 19-year-old who once faced child molestation charges was arrested Tuesday night in the rape and burglary of a teen at her home, Clayton County police said.
Christopher Eugene Williams of Jonesboro was charged with rape, burglary, armed robbery, kidnapping and weapons violations.
A 16-year-old male was also arrested and charged as a juvenile with burglary and kidnapping, police said.
Clayton police said the two broke into the house on Channing Drive in Jonesboro on Tuesday and that Williams raped a female occupant before leaving. Police said they had recovered a gun used in the incident and the victim’s stolen items.
Clayton court records show Williams was arrested at 13 and charged with aggravated child molestation. The case was transferred to Juvenile Court so it was not known how it was disposed of. Williams is not listed with the state as a registered sex offender.
Williams pleaded guilty in March 2005 as a first offender to attempted burglary, records show. In February 2006, Williams’ four-year probated sentence was modified to 180 days in the county jail.
That sentence was suspended in lieu of time served in a diversion center, court records show.
