Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man whose body was found Friday in a field in Pendergrass near Ga. 332 and McNeal Road. The death is being treated as a homicide.

Officials do not know the age or race of the man because of the condition of the body. He is light skinned, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 190-200 pounds, with short black hair and a thin mustache. He has a small oval mole to the outside and just below the right knee and a 1/2-inch scar on his right foot. On his chest he has a 2-inch tattoo — a red heart surrounded with a bluish-gray banner inscribed with “OLGA.”

The man was wearing a “large long-sleeved T-shirt, yellow with faded maroon in color, and blue Hanes jockey underwear.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 706-367-6000 or the GBI at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477).
