Black Friday — at Home Depot?

I received an e-mail the other day about Black Friday savings - from Home Depot of all places. I may be wrong, but I can’t ever recall the home fix-it retailer touting such a holiday sales gimmick.

With Christmas weeks away, relatives, friends and acquaintances have been repeating the same line: They’ll buy less, and definitely won’t charge a dime on their credit cards. That’s wise during any economy, not just one that’s near the toilet.

Generally speaking, I wouldn’t want a sheet of plywood or a wood-planer for Christmas, but there’s numerous other things I’d love to have from Home Depot.

Xenon flashlight, led flashlight, rug, lights, pictures, shelf, laser-level, air compressor, fireplace stuff, ladder, Christmas decorations, weedeater, mowers, blowers…so many things, the list goes on and on.

Don’t even get me started on Bass Pro Shops…I love that place, too.

I don’t think I’ve heard of Home Depot doing this either. I with Cindy on this though there are a lot of things I’d like to have at HD, new light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, etc. Doubt I’ll get any of that though or much of anything this year. :)

Home Depot has to do such things right now.

It is directly affected by the housing market, and right now, things aren’t good in that area. So, HD has to do something to get cash flowing through there.

Like the others here, there are a few things that I need from there. So, I guess that I’ll take a look at what they are offering.

Home Depot sells the turbo-flush toilets. These are a necessity during the holidays. Get yours on Black Friday.

This is nothing new. I worked at HD 10 years ago when they started Black Friday promos. They’ve been emailing offers since at least 2000.

I’m gonna have a Black & Blue Friday. Doesn’t matter how many fliers I get, this market’s beat me up so bad I can’t even afford to drive to Home Depot, much less give them my money.

I’m volunteering for the holidays. Can’t afford to buy nuthin’, so I’m helping out where I can.

Any suggestions?

Can’t think of a better place to shop on Black Friday. Both HD and Lowes will probably show better sales on Black Friday than some over priced Mall Department stores. Be sure and compare pricing between the HD and Lowes to insure the biggets bang for your lonely buck.

Home Depot has been doing Black Friday events for years!! Actually, they’ve had as many as 3 Black Friday events in a year. EVERY retailer does Black Friday.

The Blubbering Badie Moron-a-thon continues.

A simple search of the internet provided several references to Black Friday sales, at Home Depot, from years past.

Please AJC have a Black Friday Fire Sale and get rid of Badie and Woody. To not have to read the musing of a cholesterol filled imbecile would truly make everyone’s holiday.

There,

What was the point of your post?

Care to explain why I would be a Darwin Award nominee?

Or was this part of your initiation to the Rick Badie fan club? It now has 2 members, you and Bruce Wilcox.

LT, be careful it’s a very dangerous time for turkey’s.

I second the nomination for LT for the Darwin Award.

LT, I think if you won an award Rick might notice you. Don’t think he swings that way, but if he glances in your direction I’m sure you will get all tingly.

I third the nomination.

By LT ina landslide

Only I think the accident described happened behind a QT store. That’s where LT says he spends most of his time, if you believe his posts.

LT 5000: write this word, with no punctuation, “Well”. It’s your only escape, sir.

Your welcome.

Why are you picking on Home Depot? I buy practical gifts. Home Depot has practical gifts. I shop there during the holidays. If you are going to participate in the Christmas tradition of buying presents you might as well try to make them practical rather than wasting money on perfumes and slippers and ties.

I got an Email from Domino’s Pizza Wednesday offering a “Thanksgiving Special” - any of the oven baked specials they’ve been selling for the past few months, at the price they’ve been charging since they started selling them.

Hey Rick, might want to do a little research before you write something b/c apparently you are the only one who didn’t know that HD participated in Black Friday.
