Nov. 4 riot preparations not necessary in Gwinnett

Deputies in Richmond and Columbia counties are taking an eight-hour course today to deal with potential civil unrest or overexuberant celebrating after Tuesday’s presidential election, according to The Augusta Chronicle.

No, authorities don’t expect any problems. Nevertheless, as many as 60 deputies were to learn crowd control and dispursement techiques.

I e-mailed Gwinnett County Police Chief Charles Walters to see if similar preparations were taking shape here.

His reply: “We have no indication of those type incidents occuring here.”

Great, but does that mean plans or departmental meetings have, or haven’t, been held to prepare?

Reply No. 2: “This agency’s only comment is that we have no indication of the type of behavior you asked about.

Unsatisfied, I got Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli on the horn.

“{Election Day} will be a routine business day for us,” he said. “We would handle any incident on a case-by-case incident. If something were to happen, the department has procedures in place to implement immediately.”

I think most people in Gwinnett have jobs and a life and therefore have no reason to riot no matter the outcome.

I agree with Tim. We have better things to do with our lives. What would the riots be about anyway? There is enough diversity in Gwinnett where it really doesn’t matter who wins or loses an election. The only real issues in Gwinnett where people are concerned is legal v/s illegal.

I’m confident that Gwinnett County Law Enforcement is well-prepared and ready every day.

I think Gwinnet will be fine, unfortunately there are too many Al Sharpton types out there who may try to stir the pot one way or another just to keep their name in the news, and history shows they are adept at doing so.

I would not be worried about Gwinnett County riots as much as the mourning that could take place since we are a Republican County. One can only hope the polls are wrong!

I am surprised that riot control is not a required course for the police force regardless if there’s an increased chance for it happening or not.

I’d like to add, that this is just par for the course for GA. They don’t prepare here, for anything. Ironicaly, people freak out here more than any other place I’ve been. Water shortages, gas shortages, the media here has way too much time on their hands and blows these issues up way out of porportion. On the opposite side of the spectrum, nobody every does anything here to be prepared just incase. You’d think they would train these guys “just incase” something could happen. Why not? It can’t possibly be a money issue since the biggest hit would just be the officers lost time. They can handle that. They get trained for other things anyways, just add this to the program. Although large gatherings is the least of the problem. It’s the damage and looting done by small parties that is the real problem.

Jim D, I’m prepared. I’ve got my cat-o-nine tails and my taser. Let them try to stop my vote.

There’s a gauntlet of volunteers you have to walk through to actually get to the voting booth. They’re like the protesters outside abortion clinics. They’ll grab at you and say, “Do you really want to vote? Reconsider. The life of conservatism is at stake. Come with us, and we’ll brain wash you for free, and then vote.”

People: walk tall, go bravely into the poll site while all around you people are losing their minds. Vote. Vote for tomorrow. Vote for today. Vote for justice. Vote for the right to not pray.

Wooten cheered a recent decision by an appellate judge to allow prayer to start a governmental meeting somewhere. Well, I dont want to say your prayers to your god, wooten. What about my god? What about allah, or buddha? or how about this:

Let me introduce you to a little guy named Jesus Christ. He started a church: catholicism. Now, your religion is a variation, a diluted and deluded variation that bears little resemblence to catholicism. It’s like you decided that Jesus Christ couldn’t possibly have known what he was doing, and some other man knew better and so out with the old and in with the new.

I hope there’s a consolation of reuniting with all your christian friends in the fiery pits of eternal hell, Wooten, cause that’s all you’re gonna git.

Convert to the real church, Wooten, before it’s too late.

Catholicism 08: St. Peter will call your name.

It is always funny to me how one topic of conversation always turns to “the police department doesn’t know what they are doing”. Perhaps if more people took an interest in what their local police do correctly …instead of second guessing them all the time! Do people honestly think that a county as progressive as Gwinnett wouldn’t have a police department who was prepared for anything? Well guess what? They are!!! Perhaps they don’t want to divulge their riot plans in case there is one. Also, for the guy who made the rude comments about Georgia….if you don’t like it here then please move….some of us love it!!

I am making a formal citizen’s arrest of Rena for her vigilante-rousing, mob-rule, riot-inspiring, wet-t-shirt contest of a comment.

You may as well have yelled, “earn your beads” at a Girls Gone Wild reunion.

When are you trolls gonna realize that freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can instigate debauchery?

When?

Okay, I dont want Rena to get off on a technicality, so I’ll read her rights: U have the right to remain a moron. Anything you blog can and will be imitated mercilessly in parodies for the next twenty minutes, you have the right to an ombudsman troll, who will pretend to reply to his own aliases in an attempt to show support that isn’t there.

Watch your head.

If Obama loses, the entire country, including Gwinnett County, will look like Los Angeles after the Rodney King verdict.

Blubbering Badie is certainly proactive when contacting the Police about rumors of Obama fueled Riots, but drops the ball when it comes to asking Gwinnett officials about Illegal Immigrant crime.

Just another Obama infomercial brought to us by Blubbering Badie. i.e. If you don’t be voting for Obama, there will be riots.

Is it any wonder with morons like Badie writing this kind of bilge that these are the headlines?

Continuing to face tough times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s circulation numbers took the biggest dive recently of any major newspaper in the country, according to numbers released Monday by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories/2008/10/27/daily6.html

Wake up AJC. When you turn over the “reporting” to amateur hacks with an Obama fueled Agenda like Badie, this is what happens.

Cant take a joke Rena? Then vote 4 McCain and watch your partisan friends make total fools out of themselves as America leaves you GOP losers behind. You’re obsolete. Being a citizen brings duties, and those duties involve keeping up with the Tectonic Zeitgeist Shifts of nuanced public opinions and stuff.

so there.

Why do people always assume that black people always start riots and act crazy, what about the kkk and the skinheads and other crazy groups like that, no one ever say anything about them thats right its ok to threaten possibly the next president of the u.s. and kill 102 other innocent people, don’t anyone have a problem with that. And the thing about it is blacks are just as polite and forgiving as the next person just look at how we have been treated in the past and present.

Badie, this blog doesn’t suck but there’s no way to discuss this subject openly without people being offended by others’ use of “shock-and-awe” insults.

What else do you have for us?

Renee,

Don’t be naive.

I would suggest you look back at the major riots in the US. i.e Watts and LA. A certain demographic was always involved.

As for the two idiots that claimed they were going to assainate Blowbama. Have you actually read details of their plan? To wear white tuxedos and tophats? Carried out by a 20 year old and 18 year old.

Now remember the DC snipers…..

A series of trial exhibits indicated that Malvo and Muhammed were motivated by an affinity for Islamic Jihad

Maybe We Should Pull Out of Chicago ? Body count: In the last six months: 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago 221 killed in Iraq Illinois Jr. Senator: Barack Obama, Democrat Illinois Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr., Democrat Illinois Governor: Rod Blagojevich, Democrat Illinois House Leader: Mike Madigan, Democrat Illinois Attorney General: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike), Democrat Chicago Mayor: Richard M. Daley (son of former Mayor) Democrat

What have these government leaders got in common? They are all Democrats. What do they have to say about their combat zone statistics? They blame each other because they can’t blame Republicans; there aren’t any. Illinois State Pension Fund is $44 Billion in debt; the worst in country.

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look ‘em up if you wish.) Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. This is the political culture that Barack Obama comes from in Illinois and he’s gonna “fix” Washington politics for us?

COME ON AMERICA , WAKE UP!!! This Obama guy is deception personified!!! Why do we have to wait until he is elected, and then tips his hand? It may be too late then!!!

If the majority of citizens in this country vote for Obama and the redistribution of wealth, then I will have these business cards made up and left at everyplace that I eat and stay as I am a business traveler that tips well.

Thank You For Your Excellent Service And in keeping with President Obama’s message to redistribute the wealth, I will be giving the 20% TIP you earned, to a less-fortunate person who didn’t!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND…. MAY GOD HELP AMERICA
