The Badie Tour: March 11
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
“Nappy-headed hos.” That’s the term national radio host Don Imus used on air last week to describe the mostly black Rutgers University women’s basketball team. On Wednesday, Rick Badie, your AJC Gwinnett News columnist, gets to the root of the remark by hanging out at Heavenly Touch Beauty Hut, a salon in Lawrenceville that caters to black women. Read about the Badie Tour, in print and online, in Thursday’s AJC Gwinnett News.

Maybe Rutgers and other colleges should introduce a college class dedicated to the complete analysis of Imus’s impetuous moronic comment. This sort of obessing perpetuates racism. Wake up people! Realize that Imus is an idiot and move on!

Once again we are experiencing the sad reality of racism. Just like a couple of weeks ago when we discussed the subject of giving the black community/african american community an apology for slavery.
Unfortunatly we live in a society where racism still exsists amoung people. It’s not just whites being racist toward blacks because blacks are also still racist towards whites. It’s really sad that anyone would be racist toward any skin color, race or nationality. We have people that are racist toward mexicans, muslims, arabics, chinese ect. Why is hatred and racism still a part of american soil? Why can’t we be a meltin pot and love thy neighbor and people? Why do we have all black churches and all white churches preaching the gospel? The last time I checked missionary people going to places like africa are all colors and nationalities.
Reality to me says that all we can do is pray that God will break the bondage of racism. Live our lives as examples and make the decision not to be racist, not to hate, not to believe in a tooth for a tooth ( for things of the past ) or for things in the present. Two wrongs never make a right. I do not know why God made people of different color and different nationalities or why he made different countries and beliefs but I do know this, THEIR IS NO RACISM IN HEAVEN AND SKIN COLOR IS NOT A ISSUE IN HEAVEN.
When we as a world and nation can live among each other and understand peoples differences, beliefs, traditions and ways and not have hate or racism because of it then at that moment we will live in a better world. Break the bondage and stronghold of hate and racism, their is no reason for it. Love and respect is what we should practice instead of hate and racism. Their is bad in every color, race, nationality and country, dont let the bad cause a epidemic and keep hate and racism alive. You become by the way you think and you become the company you keep. Food for thought…. I am a white male in my 30’s that hates racism and hate..
