DOES TYPE OF GAS MATTER?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Q: If I can’t find premium gasoline and my car calls for it, what should I do?
A: Go ahead and fill it up with regular. It’s not optimum —- your car probably won’t perform as well —- but it also won’t ruin it.
Q: What if I like using premium gasoline, even though my car doesn’t require it?
A: You’re wasting money. According to Consumer Reports, “using premium gas in an engine designed to run on regular doesn’t improve performance.”
To check whether your engine is designed to run on regular or premium, read the owner’s manual or ask the dealership’s service department.
