Six-legged deer dies after surgery

Athens —- A six-legged deer found in North Georgia has died following surgery at a private Athens animal clinic to remove its two extra legs, which were hindering its gait. The deer, called Spyder, died Aug. 20, two days after surgery. The unusual deer was found July 18 by a couple whose dogs chased it near Armuchee in northwest Georgia.

Hot air balloon festival keeps sailing on

Pine Mountain—- This weekend, Callaway Gardens celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival. This year, there is a new event, a regatta of radio-controlled boats that will hit Robin Lake on Saturday.
