Gwinnett Police arrested a man they say tried to pass himself off as a law enforcement officer around Idle-wylde apartments in Duluth.
Security officers at the apartment complex at 1435 Boggs Road called police earlier this month to report a suspicious man identifying himself as a Georgia State Patrol Officer.
The man claimed he worked in the agency's crime prevention unit, according to Cpl. David Schiralli, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the man's residence, where they found several badges and vests with the word "police" written on the back, Schiralli said.
Moses Roscoe Eaddy, 37, of Duluth is charged with one felony count of impersonating a police officer. He was arrested July 18 and released from jail the same day on $11,200 bond.
Police are asking anyone who had contact with Eaddy when he represented himself as a police officer to contact investigators at 770-513-5300.
