Atlanta police are looking for a woman who reportedly threw a gray kitten out of her moving car.
According to Elasha Germain, a specialist at the Atlanta Humane Society, a red-haired woman in her mid-50s tried to leave three cats at the center on June 21.
When Germain told her the center was full and could not take any more animals, the woman turned violent —- on the cats.
A police report states the woman violently shook the crate holding the cats as she walked back to her red Ford Focus.
When Germain said she'd call police to report the act of animal cruelty, the woman tossed the crate into her car and drove off.
But before she got far down the road, the woman flung one of the kittens out the window, Germain told police.
Despite their efforts, center officials could not find the kitten.
Germain said the woman had come to the Atlanta Humane Society earlier in the day, but was referred to Fulton County Animal Control. When the Fulton center's officials told her Saturday was not an "owner surrender day," she returned to the Humane Society.
Police were provided the woman's car tag, but no arrest has been made, according to Atlanta police Officer Eric Schwartz.
