Seven to run for appeals court seatThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Seven attorneys have qualified to compete for the Court of Appeals seat currently held by Judge John H. Ruffin Jr., who is retiring.
Qualifying for all nonpartisan races ended Friday.
Of the three seats on the Court of Appeals up for election in November, only one will be contested.
Sara Doyle of Atlanta was the seventh and final candidate to file paperwork with the Secretary of State's Office to qualify for the appeals court race.
She will be joined on the ballot by Tamela L. Adkins of Suwanee, former Republican state Sen. Perry McGuire of Douglasville, Bruce M. Edenfield of Atlanta, Christopher J. McFadden of Decatur, Mike Sheffield of Lawrenceville and Sen. Michael Meyer von Bremen (D-Albany).
Incumbent Appeals Court Judges Gary Andrews and Charles B. Mikell Jr. will be unopposed in November.
