Q: The sentencing for Ron Sailor Jr. was set for May 22. Has it been postponed?

DAVID PLYLER,

Spartanburg, S.C.

A: Ron Sailor Jr., convicted of money laundering, was to be sentenced May 22 by U.S. District Judge Jack Camp, but the hearing was canceled because of new charges filed against Sailor.

The filing didn't specify the new charges, but lawyers for the southwest Atlanta church Sailor formerly pastored have told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that they are trying to recover $250,000 that Sailor obtained after secretly mortgaging the church.

Sailor is scheduled to plead guilty to the new charges on June 17, and his sentencing should follow.

Q: My friend says Robert Blake was Spanky from "Our Gang." I say no, he wasn't Spanky, he was Mickey. Can you clear this up for us?

DONNY CANTRELL,

Carrollton

A: You are correct. Robert Blake, under his real name, Michael Gubitosi, appeared in the later "Our Gang" episodes as Mickey, with George McFarland as Spanky. "Our Gang" was a series of film shorts from the 1920s to the '40s, and it became known as "The Little Rascals" when it started running on TV in 1955.

Blake continued to act. His breakthrough film role was as killer Perry Smith in the 1967 movie "In Cold Blood," based on Truman Capote's book. He played the title role in the 1970s cop show "Baretta." In 2005, he was acquitted of the 2001 killing of wife Bonny Lee Bakley. He was later found liable in a civil trial.
