Triple shooting in Newton County

A 34-year-old man was shot to death and two others were wounded Monday morning during a home invasion in Covington, Newton County authorities said.

The deceased was identified at Calvin Kentrell Banks. A teenage girl and another man, who were wounded, were taken to a local hospital. Their names were not released and their conditions were unavailable.

The shooting happened on Appia Way, in a neighborhood off Ga. 36, after two men burst into the home, WSB-TV reported. Banks was shot in the head, the station reported.

Sheriff’s investigators have not discussed possible motives.
