UGA spring enrollment up 2.5 percent

Athens — Spring enrollment at the University is up 2.5 percent over spring 2008, with a record of almost 33,000 students in Athens and four other campuses.
The university said Tuesday that enrollment this semester includes 32,044 students signed up for courses at the main campus, while 924 are enrolled in Gwinnett County, Griffin, Tifton and Atlanta’s Buckhead campus, designed mainly for master’s degrees in business administration.

The total of 32,968 is 458 students more than the previous spring semester record of 32,510 in 2007.
Georgia State University has the second largest enrollment in University System of Georgia schools with 27,424 students, followed by Georgia Perimeter College, 23,315, Kennesaw State University, 20,729, and Georgia Tech, 18,025.
